About this bed and breakfast

Private retreat for couples in Omaha, only 45 minutes north of Auckland. The guest housse is at the back of my beach house. Totally self contained and private. The perfect escape to forget your worries and relax, enjoy the sun and surf, walk the beach, read your book. Enjoy the peace, watch the stars.
Use the full kitchen, pick up some treats at the village market or enjoy a local cafe or winery.
If you are golfers, boaties , divers, stand up paddle boarders, golfers, wine lovers, surfers, nature lovers its all here for you. Perhaps enjoy a short drive to some unbeatable restaurants, cafes, and vineyards, Matakana cinemas, wine bar, marine reserve..... the list is endless.
A choice of 2 outdoor patio areas one very private and sunny, one for shade lovers too. Simple open plan studio designed for sun and privacy. Private BBQ deck or sunbathing. Short flat walk to beach, boat ramp & jetty across the road , golf-course, cafe, surf club, tennis courts, bird sanctuary all within a 15 min stroll

Black and White Retreat was just perfect for us with all amenities we needed. Clean, comfortable (great, comfy bed). Great location, quiet and only a short, flat walk to the beach and even quicker to the boat ramp. Great outdoor spaces which was wonderful for when the family arrived for a beach day and accommodated 11 of us for a pre dinner drink really easily. Playground just up the road for the grandchildren...perfect. Host Sue is lovely making us feel welcome and very comfortable. Will be back soon.

Owner helpful, friendly and accommodating. Went out of her way to provide an alternative option to relieve us of our bags earlier than the stipulated check in. Locality was perfect. Short walking distance to beach, and for us attending a private function. Perfect!

This was our first long stay in Omaha and really enjoyed it!! The bach doesn’t want for much, the only things we raised with the fabulous owner was…- the wifi was very weak and an extender could resolve this- the bed is super comfy but on rollers on a concrete floor ao coasters would remedy this!All in all a safe and private location which we loved! Thank you

Our son recently got married at Matakana's Stables wedding venue and we needed some extra accomodation for my elderly parents for two nights. After accidentily booking for the wrong month, Susan responded immediately to my SOS and moved my booking withoutr hesitation. The studio was perfect for our needs. It was clean and very well appointed, with a lovely private courtyard if you wanted to relax outside. The only comment from my parents was they would have loved a TV., Otherwise, a great little spot for a quiet get away. Happily recommend.

Beautiful, quiet, private getaway with all the amenities available. Very welcoming and our communication was fantastic. The little house was very private and quiet and very comfortable. A great place to relax after a fun full day of adventuring. I would absolutely recommend staying here and will be heading back next summer and for longer.

We had a very nice time. Susan was a wonderful host and the property was all that was promised. A perfect get away for a busy couple . If there was one complaint it was the WiFi was a bit in and out while we tried to watch the tennis but that was all . Other than that perfect. Many thanks Susan we will be back.

Lovely little batch close to the beaches and nice walks. It was great we could bring our little dog but property isn’t fully fenced but he just came with us. The private outdoor area was lovely and very tidy, a thing I thought might be good for next time is having a few more extra towels/tea towels and a washing line otherwise it was a lovely place and we will be back! Thankyou for letting us stay ??

Bach was gorgeous. Clean, modern, tidy and very comfy bed. It had everything we needed and more for our 2 night stay. Loved the fact there was no TV . Talking to each other whilst listening to music was perfect. Thanks Susan. We will be back if you will have us.

Lovely compact Bach, had nearly everything you needed and very modern + stylishly decorated, kitchen was missing a few key items of salt, pepper and oil + a sponge but not a huge deal as we ate out almost every night in matakana village, highly recommend the rusty pelican, esp 2 for 1 pizza tuesdays! Bedding was comfortable but a bit tired and had a few hairs in top, couch cover was a bit warm for the weather and there was some issue with the wifi? Nice private spot and everything else was great

Don't stay here if the weathers cold! no electric blanket, no TV, no Wi-Fi, Its a converted garage at the back of a house with concrete floors and certainly not the view shown on the Sites photo, NO view at all, we had trouble finding it as no number at the gate. A couple of mats on the floor wouldn't go amiss, we froze, there is only a small fan heater which couldn't be left on all night!. Bed was comfortable, water was hot!
