Door code didn't work, apartment was icy cold

I want to give respect to the host for friendly chat communication and flexibility in arranging a compensation for the first night that I missed.

The key code didn't work upon my arrival for first night. I should've called the host by phone and not in chat only. Second night I got in but the apartment was so cold that I stayed only in bed!

Stay away

Distance to tram station and Lidl.

The place is a total STAY AWAY. No wifi. No reception. You cannot fit in WC. Uncomfortable neighborhood. Walls tearing apart. And this is the funniest part that the booking.com helps the host; the owner charges you taxes and doesn’t even give you invoice. If you’re traveling for business, take note that the owner doesn’t GIVE INVOICE. Just stay away from this place. It’s not value for money because it’s no value at all. Also shame on booking.com which does not help you with your problems.

There was nothing to be liked in this apartment

Me and my friend both aged 79 and 80. We were feeling it was cold and we phone the customer service so she can switch on the heating but she said I will switch on the heating from 1st of November. It was strange that we were feeling cold today on 13th of October and she will switch on from 1st of November. Then I asked her to provide extra blanket but she said I can't come today and will come back tomorrow morning to provide. she never came to deliver. What a pathetic response and customer care . Zero facilities.

We had to provide our own meals. There was only one cereal bowl between two people. Kettle handle was cracked so boiled water in a saucepan.

Electric double socket above kitchen tap cracked and dangerous so didn't use it. Mini oven dirty and nowhere to plug it in. Cold water in bathroom sink only. Shower very small, hand held but at least it was hot. Generally the whole flat needs repairs and redecorating.

The apartment is in a good location.

When we returned from dinner we found cockroaches on the walls, ceilling, and the bed. They were out during daylight hours. We immeditely left the apartment. While we were offered an alternative property it felt equally unkempt and we had lost all faith and trust in the property owners. Despite all the stress, inconvenience, and extra costs incurred, we were not offered a refund until we demanded one, and even then were only offerred a partial refund. Even so as of writing this review we still haven't received our refund. Also the stairs are tight, steep, and mouldy.

I am surprised that this place is listed in booking.com, the entrance of the building has a stinky smell and the room is full of cockroaches. I do not recommend at all Note: host did not accept to cancel the booking for the remaining nights despite knowing the pest issues.

Together with my boyfriend we went to Brussels for two days. We decided to stay in this hotel because of the good price, location and photos on the site, which seemed to us the best we have seen. This was the biggest mistake we made. As soon as we opened the door from the room, we were simply hit by a terrible smell of moisture. Near the balcony door, on the ground, the floor was wet all the time, and around the door the wall was black - from moisture. The room was really dirty, especially the carpet. Kitchen tools were also dirty, we could not use them immediately . There were no products in the room to wash the dishes in some way. You see on booking.com that the room has a "view", but the only view you have is dirty garages / just other buildings, nothing special. And what I think is worst, the room was really cold. The only plus I would give is that the bed had clean sheets, thankfully...

Coupure d'électricité même le jour de pâques à 22h45. Je n'ai pas été informé. J'ai pris des logements dans plusieurs pays européens, C'est bien la première fois que je vois cela arriver sans prévenir. Je n'ai pas du tout apprécié
