Curlew Cottage

Cute and modern little cottage with a lovely view. Quiet location, not far from Edinbane.

It was fine. No complaints!

The view from the Cottage was spectacular - we loved our neighbors the sheep! The location was perfect in the middle of Skye to see all the sights we wanted to! We loved the sereneness and the wood burning stove was a nice addition. Would have stayed more if we could!

Little glitches with the hob, but we managed and the host was responsive. Would have been nice to have some outdoor cushions to sit on the porch mini-deck.

Location was great and is was cosy. Large fluffy towels - gorgeous view - with the log burner on it was really comfy

It needed more attention to detail and lacked instruction and equipment Towel rail wasn’t working Heating didn’t appear to be working - we lit the log burner but had to buy fire lighters and kindling on night 1 to do this - if this was intended, needed to say so No rinse aid or salt in the dishwasher - a very common holiday let issue Basic kitchen equipment Blunt knives and no sharpener

The views were excellent and it was centrally located to explore all the sights on Skye. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

I am sorry to say that it just wasn't clean and more attention to detail is needed. There was mud on the sofa, the floors hadn't been hoovered (or mopped), the handles on the knives were all gone, bottles of olive oil and laundry detergent but nothing in them, mould on the plug holes and in the shower, all simple things to clean but they just weren't. I didn't expect to have to hoover, unload the dishwasher and bleach the sink on arrival. The towels and linen, however, were spotless. It's a shame because it is a lovely place, just needs a really good clean!
