Best cottage we've ever stayed in, decorated and furnished to a high standard with everything you could need. Comfortable large rooms. Great to relax in after a day walking or sightseeing. Lots of nice touches a thoughful welcome pack, lots of books and information about the island. Detailed info and directions given by the host. Lovely location, countryside views on one side and the bay on the other we even spotted some deer nearby. Would highly recommend

We stayed for 4 nights at Crofters Cottage and had a truly memorable time. The cottage is beautifully located on the Isle of Skye, with stunning views over Loch Caroy and grazing sheep right outside the window. It’s ideally situated for visiting many of the island’s main attractions.
The house is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper filled with local treats and an extensive welcome guide. The cottage is very spacious – which we especially appreciated as tall guests – and thoughtfully designed. Underfloor heating, a great shower, a large bathtub, and charming details such as binoculars and a bird guide all added to the experience.
The kitchen is large and very well stocked, including a washing machine and dryer. There’s even a shed with bikes and fishing rods available for use. Although we didn’t meet the hosts in person, they were always friendly and available whenever we needed them.
For future guests, we highly recommend a visit to Portree for a bit of local charm, and hikes to Fairy Glen and the Fairy Pools. Dunvegan Castle with its beautiful gardens is also worth a visit. Driving the winding single-track roads, often shared with sheep and cows, is an adventure in itself!
The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was quite poor, and combined with limited 4G/5G reception in the area, it made staying connected a bit difficult.

Perfect cottage! Lovely quiet location, and a short drive to Dunvegan for local shops and a few places to eat. Spacious and very comfortable for two - well stocked and homely. 10/10, a rare find!
Nothing.

The cottage was very comfortable in every way. All the things we needed were already there, and as we visited over a stormy few days, we had a cozy place to stay! I loved hearing the birds and sheep in the mornings and watching the sky change colors. We enjoyed several good local drives and shopped and ate in the Dunvegan village.

Can’t say enough about this cottage. It is stunning inside and out. The view is awesome and though it initially feels remote, it is really more like cozy and “yours”. The interior is beautifully decorated, high end furnishings, laundry facilities, great sized bedroom and comfy bed. We felt so welcomed by the Welcome Basket left by the owners; lots of goodies for breakfast, especially appreciated the fresh eggs. And such a wonderful place to come back to after a day of hiking. Great location too, close to Donvegan.
Can’t think of a single thing.

The warmth, comfort, amenities, and ☺️having an option of a top sheet.
The cottage is obviously lived by its owners.

This reconstructed gem of a stone cottage surpassed all our needs! Every little detail had been considered, and we felt we were coming home at the end of each day’s adventures. Upon arriving somewhat late on our first evening, we were met with a basket of goodies to start our first full day in Skye!

Fabulous cottage. Luxurious 5* accommodation.
The cottage has everything you could need for a stay on the Isle of Skye. Great welcome basket, from underfloor heating to a fan. A wonderful stay after a day's sightseeing.
Nothing, the owners thought of everything.

The cottage is not only in a beautiful location but the cottage itself is amazing, the owners have thought of everything and more. It was spotlessly clean and so cosy.
There wasn't anything I didn't like

everything was perfect, Marie kept us informed about how to get there and about the key.
The cottage was amazing and so is the Isle of Skye region as well! We can highly recommend this beautiful cottage and enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Everything about the Cottage was excellent. Beautifully presented, equipped to a high standard. Great location - peaceful but close to main 'A' road for getting around the island.

The location was outstanding, being in the middle of the island on the west coast we spent the week traveling the entirety of Skye, with plenty of time to return to the cottage from anywhere after a day out and still cook dinner, saving us both the money and hassle of making restaurant reservations. On the one night we didn't cook for ourselves, we stopped by the fish and chips at the end of cottage driveway (out of sight of the cottage as it is set back off of the road). Access to the cottage was with a key in the lock box, the code sent to us well in advance by the owner. Directions sent from the owner were also greatly helpful as both the phone navigation and car navigation had us going somewhere else, miles away from the cottage, so pay attention to those when received. The cottage is self catering with all of the amenities and utensils needed to cook, including a dutch oven, which was a surprise. With a clothes washer/dryer, we were able to launder our clothes prior to leaving for the next leg of our trip. Living room furniture was quite comfortable. The bathroom was quite a good size, and my wife loved the tub. The in-floor heating was exceptional in keeping the entire house warm, with separate thermostat controls in each room. We didn't use the bikes, walking poles, or fishing gear that's available in the shed to the the back.
We know this is highly dependent on preference, but we found the bed firmer than we like. I slept fine with it, but my wife has some back issues that didn't get along with the bed. As I mentioned, this is a very personal preference for everyone. Regardless, the cottage is in such a great location and kept so clean and equipped, we'd happily return again.

We arrived a day late after missing our ferry. The owners had left us a lovely gift and note for our arrival. The place is very well thought out, although with only one night we didn't have a chance to use it to its full potential. Lovely place and would definitely consider returning.
I know there were problems with the water pump, which can hardly be helped, and it's commendable that the owners are trying to be very eco-conscious. However, it made a lot of noise when it was on. Also the bed is fairly harsh. Both just small points that shouldn't deter someone from staying at this wonderful property.

This is a beautiful home of the highest quality with no expense spared. It was cosy and warm, very comfortable and peaceful. No neighbors apart from sheep! The bath was pure luxury as was the bedding. We spent a week here on our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for better. The location was pretty central and Dunvegan was the nearest town with a few shops. The castle and gardens there were worth a visit. The Old School House Restaurant was lovely too. We did cook several nights at the cottage though and had everything we needed. There was a thoughtful food basket when we arrived and communication from the owners was great. We were sad to leave this amazing home and can't recommend it enough!

The location was excellent & all the facilities needed where there for us . They had thought of everything from guides on how to get there to little touches like fresh food on arrival . It was a great cosy place to come back to after a day out hiking . What a little gem & would definitely recommend . Cannot wait to return .

Absolutely lovely cottage and very well decorated and kept clean. Everything provided for including sharp knives (shouldn't all self-catering homes have aa knife sharpener in them - I get fed up with blunt knives and I've resorted to brining my own knife sharpener on holidays!). Lovely locations with cuckoos around and easy to get to coastline.
Difficult to say, it was all great. At a push, it may be difficult to see what to explore after a few days , but if you're happy to sit and enjoy, it's great.

Milk, eggs and tea bags provided on arrival which was good.
Really great, quiet location which was fab!
Generally nice neutral calming decor and excellent condition and cleanliness levels.
Also good information provided in the info book and wifi worked fine for what we needed which was a bonus!
I requested check in before 5pm as would be driving hours to get there. Host emailed to say couldn't check in any earlier than 5pm due to Covid (not sure why its Covid specific as check out time is 10 am so that is 7 hours between guests). I do think for £250 per night 5pm is really late (and check out is early at 10am).
Also in same email host said separate email would be sent with location details but this never arrived and I just received 3 copies of this same email. So it was a bit stressful trying to find the cottage as our offline maps were not working T first and we drove up and down the road (we assumed number 1 which this is would be beside numbers 2 and 3 but that isnt the case) looking for the cottage and worried that we didn't have a pin for the lock-box and couldn't phone host due to no reception at all. There was a sign for the cottage on the road but we missed it as its down on the ground (not where you look for signs), Finally our off line maps were available and we found it but were totally stressed by this point.
1 toilet roll for 2 days stay for 2 people was very unexpected at this price point! I ended up having to smuggle another one out the restaurant we visited for dinner that night and at this price point I didn't expect to have to do that!
Only 2 pillows each so sitting up in bed reading wasn't as comfy as could be (hard headboard rather than upholstered).
Spare blankets removed from wardrobe also due to Covid, luckily we had a heatwave but if it had been colder would have needed.
Notice said we should strip beds before leaving, host didn't know our age (if we were elderly) or medical fitness (IE arthritis) so if this is required should be on the listing as I personally do not want to strip a bed on holiday and I am not a morning person either so not something I want to do at 8am, so have to admit I didn't although did open the windows to air as advised.

A cold week on Skye but the cottage couldn’t be warmer and more welcoming. Well equipped, spotlessly clean and well presented; we wanted for nothing. The cottage is located just 5 miles from Dunvegan, with a small number of restaurants, cafes and takeaways for the evenings when don’t feel like self-catering after a full day out walking or sightseeing. Our third trip to Skye and by far the best accommodation.
