Fabulous room facilities - included a fridge which was brilliant for us as we were on a road trip and were able to store perishables during our stay.
Roadside so a little noisy, however given wed parked o the road directly outside we were able to keep an eye on the car

We had a fantastic stay at The Continental Boutique Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Galway. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent, within easy walking distance of both Salthill and Galway city centre. There was also plenty of on-street parking available nearby, which was a real bonus. Everything we needed for a great stay was there, and we couldn’t fault it. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay in Galway!

Two young Americans decide on a whim to go somewhere for what this side of the pond calls a “holiday.” We’re in Ireland for part of it, aiming to savor Irish culture. Maybe it’s the charm of the people, the Guinness, or the way you find yourself excusing the rain, but this place finds its way into your heart. The Continental Boutique is partly to blame for our good time in Galway. JJ and his team do a phenomenal job of welcoming their guests from the moment you arrive; if you find an available room for your trip, book it. This is a boutique hotel for casual and savvy travelers. You’ll hear a spread of different languages. The rooms tend to be a little cozier, so you'll see more couples, a few travel groups, etc. We stayed in the Cozy Double; probably one more bed than we needed, but hey, it can come in handy if your partner snores or you just need some space after a long day. It’s a cheerful, warm room, the lighting is great, it felt quiet and safe. The mini-fridge is great, and the adjacent bathroom is just what we needed. Wifi worked well too. I really shouldn’t bury the lede like this, but please don’t book a room here without booking breakfast. If you’re doing anything in Galway central (Eyre Square, Latin Quarter, etc.), just eat here in the morning before you start your day. It's chef-made (and you will meet the chef), it's a healthy spread, and if you're lucky, you'll get a musical performance from JJ himself at breakfast; honestly, these are the moments that fuel our love for travel. For getting around, this is a strategically convenient spot for all your Galway fun, just outside the city center in the Salthill neighborhood. But for the walker, it’s only a 15-20 minute jaunt into town, with a Tesco nearby if you need a snack. The 401 bus is right across the street and connects you to Galway Ceannt for the trains.
Here I am, with not much to complain about, honestly. This review is post-renovation- you really should ignore anything written prior to a year ago. While this wasn't an issue for us, accessibility could be a problem if you don’t do stairs well; there’s no elevator, so either ask for a room on the 1st floor (one flight of stairs) or look elsewhere. Yes, you can hear a little of what’s going on down the hall, but unless you absolutely need the extra soundproofing for a sound night's sleep, it's nothing a pair of earplugs can't fix.

The reception was staffed anytime we went through the building which gave a great sense of security. And the team were very friendly. There is a code to open the door (which is always locked) and the common areas were spotlessly clean.
