Nice for 5 travelling - nothing fancy

Perfect apt for 5 travelers. Ike's apt is exactly as represented in the photos. We liked the location, on the main street, but up a few blocks from the tourist crowd. We could walk to the city center in under 5 minutes, but you were on the touristy street in a minute. Free parking was about two blocks away and worked well. The Washer/Dryer combo worked well (maybe get a tutorial at check-in if you're not familiar with them).

Ask for two sets of keys (we didn't know to) since the door to lock the apt is keyed both from the inside and outside, meaning if someone left you couldn't lock the apt without locking the others in. (We felt perfectly safe in the apt, it just gave us less flexibility). There was an odor from the 2nd bathroom shower, we would run the water to fill up the water trap. Disappointed they asked us to remove our own trash and recycle at checkout. Even a heads up might have made it better, as it is not listed in the "fine print" and we were already juggling luggage, getting to the car, etc.

We liked the location and the number of rooms. Bright and airy and clean.

Lack of maintenance. Eg hooks off walls, shower head that did not fix. Lack of kitchen knives and cups.

Great location to explore Bayeaux and the Normandy area

Great location with nearby restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. Within walking distance of the cathedral, Bayeaux Tapestry and the meeting spot for local tours. The apartment has a washer / dryer combination unit that worked very well. The beds were comfortable and the apartment has a full, well-supplied kitchen.

It wasn’t really 2 bathrooms, only 1 toilet with 2 showers and 2 sinks. The living room furniture was not comfortable. It would have been helpful to have information about the parking - a map of free parking and the rules of parking elsewhere. It was not clear where to take the garbage. For a window covering, one of the bedrooms had just a cloth tucked over a curtain rod which was insufficient.

NORMANDY BEECHES TOUR

Great position overlooking the square and was close to shops, bars and cathedral. The lift worked well and good security. Good for three 55-67 aged men.

Furnishings a little basic ... but were functional. Only one w.c. which may prove difficult.

The location is good. Walking distance to the town centre.

The keys need to be collected at a different venue. There’s a comment on reviews from May about the shower smelling of sewerage. The shower smells very bad, so this matter is still not resolved. No decent blinds in the bedrooms, especially the bedroom with the two single beds. The blind in that bedroom is old and frayed and sits about 15cm from the window frame therefore offering no protection from light or the afternoon sun. The room was hot and there’s no fans. There’s no comfortable couch, just four arm chairs lined up. Not very homely.

Difficult landlord and many extra charges if we don’t do their work. Not worth going there.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The location was excellent.

First, long after the reservation was made we were notified that in addition to all the charges, taxes and fees, we are required to provide a $250 deposit. They refused to give us any checkin information until we gave them the additional money. Apparently, in the words of the booking.com agent this was in the fine print but not listed as an expense. They also had requirements about cleaning the apartment and stripping the beds and taking the garbage out. There is no on site place to take the garbage. They required us to drive it down to a nearby parking lot and deposit it in the city refuge. All the dishes had to be washed and replaced in the cabinets before we left or we would be charged $50 more. If we didn’t take the garbage that was another $50 charge. In addition when we arrived there was less than 6 inches of toilet paper left on the roll. There are no paper towels. They just nickeled and dimed constantly. I had to take pictures of everything if I wanted to prove the condition of the property at Checkout. I would never deal with these people again or Booking.com.

It was pretty, clean, spacious. the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great, the shower was hot. There was a beautiful view from the window in my bedroom.

The description said toiletries were provided, yet there were only 2 individual packets each of soap and shampoo for 3 adults for 2 days. Fortunately, we had our own supplies. Also, the location is a noisy one, although that is not within the control of the owner.

Perfect for our needs, heartily recommend.

Clean spacious and well provisioned apartment that met needs of 4 adults easily. The location in town was perfect, easy to find, easy to park ( cheap payable car parking right outside, free parking 2 mins walk either side - none ever busy) , easy walk into town and a great base for us to visit the Normandy landing sites.

Nothing to criticise. I would say, be aware that it is a Town centre site so some street noise inevitable (occasional and brief loud individuals not crowds) but shut windows block this. Also, be aware that key collection is from a different location, not far but have this address handy and navigate to there first.

The free parking is a 10-minute walk away from the apartment despite there being a large car park right outside . You can park there for free overnight but need to move your car to the free one after 9 am. We had to drive to the office to pick up the keys once we had arrived at the apartment. This was not communicated to us until we got there after a five-hour drive. The office is a ten-minute drive away. The host was apologetic and pleasant though. As vegetarians, there was very little choice in the surrounding restaurants and bars when we wanted to eat out.

Distilled water for CPAP was promised, but not delivered. There was only a partial roll of toilet paper. There was only one bath towel. Fortunately, I was able to purchase toilet paper and distilled water at nearby grocery and use hand towels instead of bath towels.

Great location, very roomy!

Excellent location and ample free public parking in close proximity. There's a lot of room for a family and large group. I love the windows in every room for fresh air. Having said that, of course it is also subject to street noise. On Saturdays there is a market across the street, if was lovely. There's an abundance of patisseries, restaurants, boulangeries within a block. Overall al wonderful stay.

Having more fans for use in the summer would be great. Windows are great but at night, it could loud to have it all open.

Frederick was an excellent host.

Frederick warmly welcomed us with information about the area and helped arrange a great driver to LeHavre, our next destination. Our visit to Bayeux was exactly as we had hoped. We toured the Normandy beaches and left with a deep understanding of the courageous soldiers who were involved in the invasion (including my Uncle, Philip Suna, who was a lieutenant engineer in the first wave on Omaha beach and who thankfully survived and lived to age 95!!). Ike’s apartment was a great vantage point from which to see this historic site.

L'appartamento - presentato per 6 persone - potrebbe forse risultare ideale per una famiglia di genitori più figli. È, invece, assolutamente inadeguato per tre coppie di ospiti adulti, per quanto amici siano. I motivi? 1) La disponibilità di un solo mazzo di chiavi di accesso all'immobile e all'appartamento (che siamo stati costretti ad andare a ritirare personalmente presso l'agenzia titolare della struttura, pur avendo segnalato il fatto che saremmo arrivati all'appartamento in orari conformi alle indicazioni - 17:00 / 19:00 - per il check-in) costringe gli ospiti a gestire univocamente tempi ed itinerari del soggiorno; 2) la disponibilità di un unico locale WC (non fornito di chiave!!) è del tutto disagevole per far fronte alle necessità di sei (dico 6) persone adulte; 3) i due ristretti locali doccia risultano assolutamente spartani (segnalata la impraticabilità del porta asciugamani) e non è prevista alcuna dotazione di cortesia (neppure una saponetta, senza pretendere gel doccia o shampoo...); 4) nessuna delle tre stanze, incredibilmente, è dotata di armadio. I due vani che dispongono di barre con grucce appendiabiti sono negli spazi comuni, protetti da leggere tende e letteralmente invasi da accessori ed attrezzature di vario genere (aspirapolvere, stendibiancheria, secchi e strofinacci per le pulizie, etc. etc.) che ne rendono pressoché impraticabile l'utilizzo; 5) Ultimo ma non ultimo: gestire i rifiuti per chi è abituato a farlo responsabilmente rischia di diventare mortificante; nell'immobile non sono infatti accessibili cassonetti condominiali e l'indicazione è quella che l'ospite deve provvedere autonomamente - pena sanzioni - portandoli personalmente in cassonetti distanti alcune centinaia di metri (!!) dallo stabile. NO, NON CI SIAMO!! Lo dico con rammarico, sperando che l'appunto venga letto come stimolo per migliorare una struttura che meriterebbe più attenzione.
