The apartment has been partially renovated with new flooring, windows, a modern kitchen and an updated bathroom — all in very good condition. It comfortably accommodated our family of five (two adults and three children) across two bedrooms with a double bed each, plus a sofa bed in the living room.
The cleanliness was impeccable, and both the kitchen and bathroom were fully equipped with everything you need. Being on the first floor is actually a plus given there is no elevator — easy access with no hassle.
The apartment was quiet and peaceful throughout our stay. But what truly stood out was the hospitality. Jeanne welcomed us warmly, provided genuinely useful local tips, and had thoughtfully left a welcome basket in the fridge with wine, water, small jams and madeleine cakes. A lovely personal touch that set the tone for the whole stay.
Overall, a very good experience and easy to recommend.
On the downside, the sleeping pillows were quite uncomfortable. More importantly, the heating system was not functioning properly - regardless of the thermostat setting, whether on low or high, it consistently underperformed, making the apartment difficult to keep warm.
There was also a parking-related issue, though this was not the owner's fault but rather a Booking.com problem. The platform offered two booking options: one without any mention of parking at a standard price, and another at a 10% higher cost that included a "parking reservation" - despite parking already being listed as included in the property description. This is misleading for guests and worth flagging to Booking.com directly.

Excellent location for access to D-Day beaches, Bayeux. Easy on site parking. Very generously and thoroughly stocked with coffee, tea, biscuits , small cakes, jams, spices, etc. Includes an exprresso maker and washer/dryer. Good bakery within an easy walk, supermarkets nearby. The owner was solicitous and helpful beyond expectations.

What an excellent stay at Zhanna's apartment! We loved this 2 bedroom apartment a 15 minute walk from the historic centre of Bayeux. With both a bakery for fresh bread and a small market also walking distance we had everything we needed for our breakfasts. We had a car and took advantage of the secured parking garage. We drove all the D-Day sites and also were glad to be able to drive into town at night for dinner when the weather was a bit chilly. The apartment was perfect for two couples and we comfortably shared the bathroom (with separate toilet). Beds were VERY comfortable and it was so quiet at night that we could have the windows open to enjoy the fresh air. But what really sets this apart from other short term rentals (and we've rented quite a few) is the warm welcome and attention from Zhanna! Even before we arrived she was quick to help me with questions (great restaurant recs!) and upon our arrival we were greeted as if we were old friends. She provided us with a few breakfast staples to get us started, a thorough tour of the apartment, parking pass for the city, instructions (and soap) for the very much needed washing machine, and even flowers from her garden and a bottle of Pear Cidre. We spent a comfortable 4 days here and would absolutely return for a much longer time if we could! Thank you Zhanna for providing such a perfect spot!
