A lovely stay in a French Gite

Disappointed.

For a family the space is great. One bedroom with a king bed and the other with 3 single beds. There is a living area and a dining area and kitchen. Communications were good.

The house was dirty. There was toothpaste in the bathroom sink and the faucet was spotted and dirty. The toilet had blue water in it so I assume it was cleaned. The shower had soap residue on the tiles. The downstairs tiles were dirty and needed to be mopped. The entire place needs a good cleaning or to be repainted. Scuff and smudge marks on doors, baseboards very dirty. I assume the sheets on the bed were changed but I am not 100% positive. I did not sit on any surface during my stay. Also there is no way to lock the house from the inside. There is a jerry rigged lock on the outside, a bit rusted so it has been that way for a while. And the gate is to be locked at all times so if there is a fire your only exit is a locked gate with a key. A safety hazard in my book. There is a washer and dryer available in a separate building. We encountered a few large spiders. Didn't bother me but may bother others. We were just 2 people and I chose this house so we could have 2 bedrooms. For the price I don't see the value. In addition, the host did not provide paper towels for the kitchen, soap or shampoo in the bathroom or laundry detergent. Little touches such as this go a long way and doesn't cost too much. I will say I did not contact the owner while we were there about the condition as we were mostly out of the house. We arrived at 8:00 in the evening and headed out the following morning at 7:30 for an all day WW 2 tour, returning at 7:30 in the evening. We departed the next morning. A note to the owner, as a dog lover I would have directions about the gate being locked in all languages to make sure the guests understand. If it hadn't been for my daughter who understands French, I would not have understood the directions.

Great location and facility.

The property is spacious, clean, well appointed, and in a great location. The setting is very peaceful and yet a few minute walk from the center of Bayeux.

The only minus here is that there are no instructions available in English. I realize not speaking French is our problem, not theirs. However, even Google translate was of little use in understanding the completely verbal instructions of the kind woman who checked us in. A one page information sheet in English left on the counter would have made the stay a little easier. The pluses far outweigh the minuses at this property, just be prepared for challenges in communication.

A very lovely stay in Bayeux

Le Petit Valhalla is a beautiful apartment that is very well located in Bayeux. The apartment is equipped with everything that one needs for a very comfortable stay.. The apartment can sleep at least four, not sure if more people would be acceptable. Damien, the proprietor was very responsive to our very basic question. He was easily contacted via Booking.com message app and he was quick and friendly to respond. If you want that quintessential French stay in Bayeux then I think Le Petit Valhalla would be a very good choice, it was for my wife and I. I highly recommend this apartment.

A cozy, peaceful, lovely stay.

The location and ambience of the place was great. It was clean. Lots of room for storage of clothing. Responsive to messages in a prompt manner. We loved that there were full laundry facilities.

Didn’t have enough toilet paper and were told a bit late that we were only provided a starter amount (we had 5 people and only 1.5 rolls). We were not initially provided with enough towels for all 5, but a 5th towel was provided on request.

It's a wonderful apartment in a wonderful location.

The location was fantastic. The bedrooms were very nice. The kitchen was great. The apartment was clean. The gardens outside the apartment were wonderful.

From the website it wasn't explicitly made clear that I had to phone the host to arrange entry. There are no keypad. There is one area where you can park your car for free with about 6 slots. One wasn't available and I got a parking ticket for parking in a nearby lot next to a church.

The apartment was jus as lovely as i looked like in the pictures and a welcome present was waiting for us, cider and cookies. Supermarket was close as were a lot of restaurants. A perfect place to stay if you want to visit the D-day beaches and museums.

This two bedroom, two story house (attached to a main house) was the perfect place to stay while exploring Bayeux, Normandy, and Mont St-Michele. Located on a quiet street and accessed through a separate garden entrance, this immaculate and very comfortable house has a fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer, internet, and free parking. It is located mere blocks from restaurants, bars, and shops and is walking distance to the Tapestry and Cathedral. A perfect base for touring and relaxing.

Goede indeling van de kamers. Voldoende ruimte om te zitten, bewegen. De rust in het midden van een leuk stadje.

Er waren 3 koffiezetters, maar geen enkele werkte. Enkele lichtpunten werkten niet, het inductievuur ook niet.

Fijne plek midden in de stad Beyeux

Locatie! Lopend naar de bakker Winkelstraat en culturele activiteiten. Tapijt van Bayeux prachtig!

Parkeren staat op de site aangegeven als gratis en naast het huis. Bleek met blauwe zone. Dus parkeerkaart 2x per dag tijd aanpassen en supervol waardoor we minder makkelijk met de auto weg zijn gegaan. Er zijn 2 honden waardoor we wel meerdere keren hebben moeten vragen om de tuin beter te controleren ivm. poep waar wij konden zitten.
