Bed was really comfy, and the room was really clean
Nothing had a great stay

Second time staying there for my visit to Fort William. The location is central, quiet, the rooms are spacious and neat, and quite clean too. Perfect for the stay.
Nothing.

The room had a nice view from window and warm in the hallway. Shower room was clean and lots of space. The car parking area was great too.
The down stairs breakfast area was closed. The shower going from hot and cold. The roof latch was slightly opened and dangerous if something fell out on to bed while sleeping. The heating wouldn’t come on. Was cold. The skirting board was very dusty with cardboard tucked behind my bed.

The place is quite nice, right in the city centre (uphill walk), the view was great on the loch, the room was spacious, modern, neat, and the bathroom was clean. The check in was smooth and easy. And good value for the price.
Some guests can be noisy, but not the hotel's fault really.

The room was spacious and well kitted out with wardrobes and seating. Parking was ample and well explained in check in instructions. Overall the checkin I instructions were very clear and simple. We arrived in sub 0 temperatures and the room was so warm and welcoming!

Good location, good facilities.

Comfortable beds and warm room after a long hike. Excellent location, and free parking with visitor permit in front of the building.
We couldn’t use the kettle because something had been burnt inside and it hadn’t been washed properly.

Great room, location and checkin process smooth with detailed information. Parking was also very straightforward.
Shower was challenging, water temperature would oscillate and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

It was convenient.
It was uphill and difficult for me to walk. But, it wasn't far and down the hill was convenient for shops and restaurants. Also, our grown children were upstairs, and we were in a basement room.

this place does not do breakfast but that suited me fine. there was a kettle with the usual sachets. the most important thing was that it was clean and warm and quiet. in the morning i met a person who said he was the cleaner. he was very helpful and friendly and took my luggage from the room i had been in on my own up to one a friend was coming to share that night. it was nice to be able to connect with a human face and someone who was part of making the place work. the shower was lovely and warm.
getting the 'code by text to get the key' system was a first for me and i wasn't sure how i felt at first but replies to my texts were very prompt. it is a fair old hill if you walk up from the high street but it just needs taken slowly or go in a car up to the front of the building. wasn't big issue for me but could possibly need taken in to consideration if you have knee problems. if you are allergic to strong smells e.g. fabric conditioner or air freshener then you might need to see if you could request if a neutral room/bedding was possible and bring your own soap. it is a very personal thing smell. (i just like essential oils and never use 'scented' wash liquids!!) most people will like the fresh clean smell i'm sure. i think the pillows might all be due for an update. i brought my own pillow.

Self check in was straightforward, and there were parking permits available for on-street parking. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. Good tea/coffee supplies. Location very central.
Walls were very thin, could hear the neighbours in and out all evening. It was a shared bathroom, which I knew about, but even though it was only shared by myself and the other room, it sounded like they had about 6 showers in the space of 12 hours... and left the bathroom wet and the bathmat lying in the middle of the floor. Not the hotel's fault, but not great. For what it was, it was quite expensive for one person but for two it in would have been reasonable.

Very clean and tidy.
Needed a little updating, but nothing major.

Nice bed
The door is really not soundproof. I could hear everything the other people were saying it doing. You could blame them for being loud, but that's denying the reality, I believe.

location is good
try to reach to the owner due to bad weather as we stuck at pervious place but owner doesn't care

Very comfortable and clean room. Good communication
Usual when sharing a bathroom is waiting for the other room to hurry up 😂
5.0 / 10.0
The location and the size of the room. Good for parking though
Expensive for what it was tbh. There were bugs in my room on the floor (woodlice). One of the sockets near the bed was damaged and not able to be used. The people next door to me were dirty and inconsiderate, they left all their wet/dirty towels all over the shared bathroom - all over the floor and hanging over the shower - I had to move them out of the way.

All good, very well set up
Curtains could have been longer and thicker

Very close to town! Parking permit provided if you arrive early (we arrived 5pm)
Toilet and shower in the same room and shared with other guests - tricky if you’re desperate for the toilet. If taller than 5ft 9, can’t stand up straight in bed area without head hitting the roof. Shower oscillates wildly from hot to cold. Toilet flush did not work at times. Couldn’t contact staff to sort these issues because wifi was not strong enough in the room to use the message function on the Booking.com app

It was town centre
Shared bathroom, wasnt clean, toilet didn't flush, needed an upgrade, strong scent on bedding, very basic, had to fill kettle in bathroom sink, tv didn't work, no instructions on where the room was, just said at back of house but felt like under dwelling, wouldn't stay here again for that price

Quiet and out of the way
Everything minus the hard bed and leaking toilet
5.0 / 10.0
Plain room, bed was comfortable. Happy there was a parking permit available. No breakfast, but good options on walking distance.
The city at large feels abandoned by locals (poverty struck), many shops have closed, houses badly maintained. Only tourist stuff and hiking shops in town. But most tourists are presumably there to climb Ben Nevis or watch the Harry Potter Train at the nearby Glenfinnan viaduct (crowded is an understatement, so come an hour ahead of time).
Room 4 at the back side, the roof in the room is extremely low, so fine if you are 175 cm (5ft 7) or shorter, or you will end up going bend or hitting your head. We stayed mid summer and the bathroom was really chilly, and room was damp, so probably freezing in autumn/winter/spring.

Comfortable room and a good location.
When I booked it was advertised with breakfast between 8am and 9am. When we went down after our stay we were told by a chap who spoke very little English that breakfast was broken and not available. Not his fault as I think he's just a live in property manager but they shouldn't sell you something and then remove it without notification.

The beds were very comfortable and the shower was spacious. The host provided cookies and we had a kettle in the room, which was very appreciative. Next time, i would choose this place once again. What was offered for the price that I paid in comparison to the other places in Fort William, was very satisfactory.
The room is not the biggest, however, the reviews seemed much worse than what we have experienced. The only difficulty was to bring the luggages up the very steep hill where the building is located and then up the stairs of the house when we were coming from the train station.

Good location. Bed was comfortable. Straight forward key system to check in.
Air freshener. Absolutely way too much air freshener. I have asthma and I had to take my inhaler a number of times as the chemical scent was so thick in the air. It gave me a headache and pretty much stressed me out for the first few hours until I located the airfreshner, turned it off and vented the room.

The location is very good, only a few minutes walk from the centre of Fort William and the rail and bus stations. Key pickup was simple with a code to an outside box.

Location
Shower was not working properly. It was boiling or freezing. Contacted the host and they offered help. But it didn’t work when we arrived and there’s not much you can do when you’re standing in the shower trying to make it work. It needs attention.

Very clean. Clear instructions. Easy to find. Great communication.
Great location, a stones throw away from Glencoe for Ben Nevis hikers.
The toilet for the rooms at the back of the house was not working. Fortunately we had a room booked at the front of the house too so we used that one. Would've been a bad experience had we only had a toilet that is broken.

Nice bathroom and location to centre of town
No staff at all
5.0 / 10.0
- The location is convenient.
- Parking is available close to the property.
- The central room heating can't be adjusted individually, which made it uncomfortable.
- Very limited free parking — I believe there are only 2 or 3 spaces.
- The water pressure in the shower is extremely low.
- There’s no place to hang clothes in the room

This place appears not to be operating as a 'B & B' and just offers self-serve rooms to let, using Air BnB style key boxes and text messages to communicate!
Didn't see or meet any staff and had to call the mobile number to ask for the code for the key box before we could get in. Code was delivered via text message.
The condition of the building both externally and internally is well below the most average of standards! Despite having a board hanging outside claiming it's a 2* B&B I seriously doubt it would be given another 2* rating by anyone inspecting the place in its current condition.
This property appears to be in breach of several statutory health and safety, operating/ licensing requirements including fire regulations!
Do not book the family room on the 1st floor with the view of Loch Linnhe! The Windows are unsafe with broken safety locks that could easily result in a fall from the rear facing 'family room' window which is 2 storeys up!
The windows are also filthy inside and out, being used at the adjacent dormer eaves by pigeons and covered in their excrement.
The bedroom walls are stained in several locations, the beds/mattresses/bedding is very old and worn out!
Towels were provided and they were in contention for the 'best bathroom feature award' narrowly loosing out the the water pressure from the electric shower.
No mats provided for the tiled floor when you step out of the shower which leaks water from the glass door seal all over the floor.
Mould above the bathroom window competes with the pigeon excrement on the window for 'worst bathroom feature award' with the very noisy 20+ year old bathroom ceiling extractor fan also in the running every time the lights is switched on.
No drinking water provided either.
The main entrance door off the building also appears to be left open overnight with no instructions about locking up or available means to be so when entering or exiting.

Nice rooms, comfy beds and great location
The room was quite cold and humid, the heating was on only 1h in the evening, considering a very rainy weekend in February in Scotland. Also, we couldn't use the kettle to make teas to warm up, as the bottom was burnt with milk (!!). Please fellow readers, do not heat up milk for your porridge in the kettle!!

The location was perfect,5 min walking from the bus station and shops/restaurant.
