Staff was great room was ok bed not all that conformable and glass on bath tub falling out of place

Great location. About 5 minutes from train station. 2 minutes from shops, bars, restaurants. Really comfy bed. Decent breakfast. Good value for money.

Very nice room,we appreciated the old-fashioned welcome note, hotel information, and nearby amenities guide. The room included a jacuzzi (though we didn’t use it) and had a beautiful bed setup. However, the mattress felt quite old and shaky; it made noise whenever one partner turned. The carpet was also very dusty — I had to take a few puffs for asthma relief. The hotel has a charming old-school feel but could benefit from modern updates, such as digital options like QR codes for ordering. The Scottish breakfast was good, and there was self-parking available — it seemed unlimited, and I imagine parking wouldn’t be an issue even during peak times since there’s free parking nearby after hours. The location is convenient, close to amenities, and within walking distance to a lovely garden

Room was great and the hotel was central to everything - taxis, restaurants and the train station.

Room was cozy. Small “issue” was the heater didn’t heat all the way to the top, but wasn’t a huge problem for us. Staff was super friendly and good was great!

Great place to stay

There is no lift. The restaurant was fine. The cost was quite high for the quality of the lodging.

Hotel in a great position, walking distance to the centre is around 50 metres.

Difficuly parking had to drive around 3 times to find a space. Front of the hotel closed off for work being done had to come in a side door snd through the restaurant. Very dated hotel i sat on a leather sofa on the reception area and it was sticky to touch. Rooms were very dated. Black stuff in the bath, looked like someone had tried clean it bit not well enough . Hairdryer from the 1960's felt like it was going to blow. Had to call a dentist as we had an emergency, called the number on the hotel information book in the room. The dentist had retired 4 years ago. I woke him up.

When we arrived the receptionist ask to pay before receiving keys. The room looks nothing like the one depicted in the advertising on the website or on the pictures on Hotels.com, total fraud. The room faced the rear of a restaurant where the garbage bins are and where the employees smoke and talk loudly all night. The beds had old and caved mattresses. The shower was not working. We got instructions to open the tap water in order to get some pump working and wait till water got to the shower. Then water was cold. Food looked bad and one of us got a long Curley hair in the fried eggs. We left breakfast (paid for) to another place. Painful experience all around.

Very dated and tired.

Our first room we were assigned smelled poorly so we requested a refund and was offered a different room. the next room was fine but the pillows were unsupportive and the bathroom sink had trouble draining.

No hot water

The building is older and a remodel was attempted. There is no lift so be able to carry your bags. The room was hot and when the window was opened there was no screen and it opened into a road with trash bins. The beds and linens were clean and in good condition. The parking is limited. We did not try the onsite dinner or bar.

Nice hotel just near the High Street. nice bar. We had a very large room with a large, comfortable bed. Couldn’t figure out how to start the Jacuzzi, which was a downside, and the absence if a real shower was somewhat odd these days. I do recommend the hotel as clean and orderly.

Ok, if you don’t mind cold showers with no water pressure.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, the only problem was the mixer for the shower was broken and it was almost impossible to get steadyhot water

This hotel is convenient to the train station and the main street with the restaurants and pubs. It is a nice hotel, a little tired. But perfect for our one night stay. The pubs and restaurants were nice and easy to get to.

Extremely helpful reception staff when it came to assisting with parking and providing information about the hotel - even organised someone to assist with luggage. Breakfast was very good.

Room are very tiny, painted but smells horrible like in a chemical factory. I don’t expect a great interior but it’s just old retired interior and they are due an upgrade. For the price they are charging £100 per night at minimum, better invest some money in your property. Stairs are horrible, why there is no lift. Anybody old age don’t book this hotel and if it’s the only option then ask for ground floor rooms. Staff looks least interested, parking is a pain and most likely you may have to park in the paid car park (payable from 830am for max 3 hours). All in all, try to book one of bnbs at lake side which are hit away from the main center

The hallways up to the bedrooms look quite tired but I got a pleasant surprise when I entered my bedroom and found it to be large, clean and nice looking. I had a really comfortable sleep the 2 nights I was there without any noise disturbance (I find it hard to sleep if there's much noise). Breakfast was good.

Cute older hotel with water views. My room had a jetted tub great for relaxing. Great little bar and very good food at the restaurant. Very diverse menu, something for everyone. Perfect location close to everything.
