A truly unforgettable stay! We had the most wonderful time at Beacon View Apartment in the beautiful Lake District. The apartment is absolutely fantastic — spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and every detail met the highest standards. The beds were so comfortable, which was a blessing after long days of exploring and hiking! The location is stunning, surrounded by breathtaking scenery that makes you feel completely immersed in nature. We were lucky enough to complete the 26-mile Macmillan Marathon during our stay — an experience we will remember forever, made even more special by having such a warm, welcoming place to come back to and relax in. Beacon View is not just a place to sleep; it’s a perfect base to make amazing memories. We left feeling recharged, inspired, and already planning our return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat or an adventure-filled break in one of the most beautiful corners of England!

Perfectly peaceful

It was such a great little place. Only found it last minute and the drive up to the property left us wondering if we were in the right place. Maybe the most peaceful stay away we’ve ever had and the facilities were just great. Tea and coffee in the kitchen with lots of towels and shower stuff in the bathroom. So much better than a hotel stay.

Beautiful apartment in the lakes district

The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed. The host was very hospitable and very easy to contact. Location was quite good for getting to multiple places in the lakes district. Beautiful views of the country from the apartment.

No block out blinds or blind for the skylight in the living room where the sofa was, which would be fine in winter but not when the sun rises at 5am. Bedding was too warm for the season. Otherwise, no other complaints. Everything else was great.

OK for a one-night self-catering stopover travelling Scotland to Wales - wouldn't use it again.

Decent location, relatively easy for a short stay travelling south from Scotland

This place is adequate, but no more. I think the reviews published have been very selective! It's very Eighties and looks like it hasn't had any money spent on it in decades. Bathroom is a good example - 80s plastic peach-coloured bath, cheap plastic shower curtain, bath taps locked off so you can't bath, very noisy fan which goes on AGES after light is turned off, wonky toilet seat that doesn't stay up. Noisy fridge in the kitchen area (can be heard in the bedrooms). For £160/night it's at best average value. And as for 'Beacon view' - nice quiet country surroundings, but couldn't see a beacon anywhere!

Good stay, good location, but best in mind there are a lot of stairs up to apartment entrance.

Good location for exploring Lake District & very easy from M6. Well equipped with everything you need.

Constant rumbling noise seemed to be coming from the room beneath my bedroom, (perhaps a boiler room?), which we didn’t notice during daytime, but was frustrating when trying to get to sleep. It did stop later on in the night & I am a light sleeper, so may not bother others.

Mighty Hike weekend

Fabulous apartment. Spotlessly clean, beautiful views, two double bedrooms with very comfy beds and their own great view too! Open plan living room and dining room was very spacious and fully equipped equipped kitchen. Large grassed outside space with picnic table was also lovely too. Will be looking to book again soon 👍 Lamps in the living would be nice as the main lights were very bright, but that's just a thought rather than criticism

It was perfect for our needs as a family and will definitely stay here again in the future.

Check in was easy, facilities were functional, apartment was quiet.

The location is impossible to reach if travelling via train or bus to the area. Cycling from the train was ok, but I would not recommend it at night time due to the only connecting road being packed with cars going at high speeds. There is no pavement or pedestrian path from Penrith to the accomodation despite it only being a couple of miles away. One of our party walked from the train to the apartment and had to wade through nettles at the side of the road. While this is not the fault of the hosts, I do think these issues need to be made clear in the description.

It was self-catering and the location was fine for us wanting to be near Ullswater.

It would have been nice, though not essential, to have a glass shower-screen instead of the curtain.

Lovely clean, comfortable stay

Great location, 1 minute walk from a friendly pub. Lovely and secluded, as apartment was up a long drive, so super quiet. Perfect apartment for the 4 of us to come back to after a long day of hiking. The host was brill too, and sent over all the information promptly. They keys were easy to find in the lock box, and worked well as we arrived later than expected due to traffic.

Bank holiday weekend stay

The property was incredibly clean and had tea, coffee, soap and shower gel etc provided which was great. Clean towels and bedding were on the main beds but unfortunately not for the sofa bed. The property is very private, situated behind private gates and about 25 minutes from the lakes.

It was ok.

Good location for visiting north lakes. Comfy, clean beds and bedrooms. Plenty of clean towels, tea towels and cleaning products. Good communication using WhatsApp messaging from host. Warm and relaxing accommodation.

Property should have been cleaner. Kitchen cutlery and drawer, crockery, and cupboards were dirty, Outside windows were dirty. No kettle on arrival although this was soon rectified by host on informing her.

The first night we didn't realise til bedtime where to find bedding for the sofa bed. We improvised and made contact with the agent the following morning and were told where to find it.
