But we could not go anywhere because with me my 4 year old daughter. They have no humanity amd very rude. Do not be fooled by photographs as we were.

Gem of a property with a fantastic view

Stylish, comfortable and well-equipped with a beautiful view. Everything I needed and more - very well-designed and thoughtfully equipped. Bed was really comfortable - best night’s sleep in a long time! Ample parking and lovely rural setting. Host was really friendly and helpful and provided a very helpful welcome pack. I absolutely recommend this property and I will certainly be back!

Awful Location next to a derelict building

The property was clean.

This was a really disappointing stay with friends. The property is next to a very derelict building, which was very scary upon arrival, and the security and access felt a major worry with young children. It is located within what looked like an office block, but there was no security lighting outside, and we all felt very unsafe during our stay. It doesn't seem ready for guests within the location, and whilst the property was clean, it felt very misleading to call it a retreat. More honest pictures of the location and setup would have led us not to book

On the whole enjoyed our stay

It was a spacious apartment and the views were lovely. It was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed looking around Penrith and walks around Ullswater.

Didn't realise the accommodation was on the first floor. The apartment was overlooked by the road into Penrith and the bed was in the main living area which wasn't ideal. The extraction fan in the bathroom was very noisy.

Room was nice but in an uncomfortable environment.

Inside the room was clean and tidy was the only good thing.

We arrived late evening and there was no lights outside or leading to our room. We were the only people at the property and with building site on going next to us it wasn’t the most pleasant. The gate key only worked now and again, and was an uncomfortable environment with no lighting and no hosts who were at reception at any point of our stay.

The property is extremely roomy, and beautifully decorated. Views from the windows gorgeous and very peaceful. The best place we have stayed at in the UK!

Stairs were narrow. It is a second floor property, not suitable if you have bad knees.

The perfect family retreat.

We visited as a large family group with our “children” and grandchildren. As Blencathra and Eden View are the only accessible apartments on the first floor it was like having one large apartment with two kitchens and two bathrooms. It worked perfectly. The apartments were great, as were the views. Spacious grounds and even a family friendly pub within walking distance.

We struggled to think of anything that could be improved. Maybe some small lights on the drive to help if walking back after dark. But we all have torches on our mobiles these days don’t we? Truthfully, there’s nothing that we disliked!

Perfect stay

Everything was just as described. 100% would stay again. Super comfy bed, soft bedding and smelled lovely. Lots of fluffy white towels, hand wash soap and shower gel. Floors swept and polished. The whole apartment had been cleaned to a very high standard. We couldn’t fault anything and had a wonderful weekend stay.

Disappointing

The room was Eden view and the pictures had an amazing view but we could only see trees and a building under construction. There was very little room once the futon was pulled out and not really ideal for a family of 4. I would also say parking is inadequate as the curb that you had to drive up scraped the bottom of the car multiple times. The shower was also not great as it was either very hot or very cold and extremely difficult to get a good temperature. It was also very noisy from other people in the building

Location was good as close to the centre of Penrith but far enough away for peace and quiet. The owner provided plenty of information and seemed nice over message

I wish I had read the reviews!! - I didn't and the property is in an empty industrial unit.

The flat itself was spotless and modern like the pictures. The contacts texts and emails were friendly.

Photos of apartment looked lovely when I booked and subsequent emails advising of rules on how to enter and keep property clean etc were very slick, advice on not disturbing other guests etc made me think it was an apartment with others in the building and it was a professional set up. It turns out there is one other flat but I didn't read reviews and I wish I had. I actually thought we had been scammed when we arrived as when we drove round the building looking for the entrance, none of us could believe what we were seeing. (I've since read reviews and another reviewer likened it to an abandoned asylum and he wasn't wrong.) Location was absolutely dreadful I would never have guessed from photos that the flat itself is actually above an abandoned, disused motorbike showroom, ambience was disturbing as the building is an industrial unit with strange artwork in the communal hall and surrounding buildings were derelict, with scaffolding holding them up. There was no signage at all advertising property from main road as a holiday let and once behind the imposing locked gates we felt very uncomfortable indeed. Once through the gates which we had seen in photos, clearly now I realise carefully taken, to avoid outside photos of the place, we then thought we must be in wrong place as we went to side of building as instructed but passed door as it did not look like entrance as again no signage, but it was the door, after driving round back which was derelict we reversed and found door. Instructions were to park unload then move car to car park which was empty and the other guest from the flat appeared and asked me if I knew where to park, I realise now that was just to ensure I didn't leave car in the temporary space which I wasnt going to. Thinking back the whole car park was empty so I assume they had parked near the caretaker or owners accommodation which was near the entrance.
