Overall nice little getaway in the Lakes

The barn was cosy and quiet, it worked well for our group and we loved having the hot tub! The location was great for activities around Ullswater as well as being close to Penrith. The beds were comfortable and having three bath/shower rooms worked great for our group of six adults. The garden was secure for our dog and the area felt very safe.

The kitchen was on the small side so you could only really fit two people in there at once. The property felt a bit tired, the TV was very small and old (no streaming services) and some of the flooring in the hall was broken. The top bedroom had very low ceilings for anyone on the taller side and the bathroom was quite difficult to use for this reason! There was no tea or coffee provided which was a bit disappointing, and the parking was a little difficult despite the instructions on where we could park (the neighbouring property had three cars which meant one of our spaces wasn’t available)

Disappointed

The area was beautiful, with easy access to the lakes. The pub and shop were delightful 😊.

There was an abundance of flies. No umbrella for shade when sitting out. Nettles on the patio area . More attention to the decor, tiles coming off in the downstairs shower. The claw foot bath, little unstable and leaked . The pillows were as flat as pancakes. I have noticed that the price for next year has increased to £1,900. Definitely think it is overpriced and won't be going back.

OK great area but would choose different accommodation for our next visit.

We booked this for 6 people (Adults) great location and clean. Bathroom downstairs cannot be called a bathroom small and cold more like a converted cupboard. Main bathroom electric shower very poor flow, shower over bath lever missing so could not use. Jacuzzi Ok but all garden chairs either broken or filthy dirty. This place could be lovely very tired and lack of investment. Would not recommend this to friends or family. We spent most of our time out, if weather wasn't good think i would of gone home early. Worth noting local pub no dogs but pub in next village does.

Investment into the property it is also a 2 bathroom not 3.

From a personal point of view I thought the beds were a bit hard, as I suffer with a bad back the hard mattress made it a bit uncomfortable at night, saying 5hat it wouldn't put me off going back.

Pleasant

Clean property, comfy beds, hot tub was really nice.

Be careful of the steep stairs to the top floor, my husband slipped down them and was injured quite badly. Banged our heads numerous times on the beams. The downstairs shower has a massive leak which floods the shower room floor making the tiles lift up.

Great holiday .

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location . I have stayed here a few times with both friends and family. The hot tub is an added bonus . Slept soundly in the comfortable beds .The Sun Inn pub and nearby Kings Arms are both friendly places and serve great food .

It did smell a bit of dogs when we arrived . Needs a little tlc in some areas .

Relaxing

Really lovely stay - the property is really clean and it has everything you could need.

Feel like the experience was cut short slightly by the check in and check out times. Check in was 4.30 and checkout was 9.30 which seem a little different to other places. Also if you have a dog, the pub in the village isn’t dog friendly.
