It is very quiet and peaceful, well-removed from light pollution or noise beyond nearby water. The onsen is wonderful and well maintained. Kaiseki was phenomenal! We had a memorable meal of delicate balance, lucious and high quality. Great selection of sake, shochu, and chuhai. Treat yourself to an in-room massage after kaiseki and onsen and sleep well as we did.
Very little negative to say except that it’s a bit of a chore to get to on foot due to a long, uphill walk from the train station, which can be tiring with luggage. Taxis in the area are hard to come by, so be prepared to wait for shuttles or walk uphill a distance.

The in-House onsen was very relaxing, the rooms were beautiful, the Kaiseki dinner simply amazing!
The atmosphere of the entire ryokan was so peaceful while sleeping on classical Japanese futons an unforgettable experience. While the initial climb up the hill with our suitcases was a little taxing, the beautiful view across the valley from our room totally made up for it.
