Lovely location, we were looked after by Risa who was absolutely lovely and explained everything including the dishes at dinner and breakfast. She made sure we were in the right place at the right time! Fascinating experience - we were in a Japanese style room with hot tub on the balcony. We stayed just one night and this was just right for us to quieten down after Tokyo (mum and young adult daughter)
For me the futon was a bit uncomfortable, but I expected that it was all part of the authentic experience.

Very good location, good traditional breakfast served to us in kimonos but the hotel was very dated and smelled bad. The furniture was so old.
This hotel needs a remodel badly. Paying over $300 per night for such old place was not worth it. But the location was very good

Nice and clean traditional room. Convenient location within minutes walk to Hakone-Yumoto station. Outdoor onsen was very relaxing, next to a beautiful river with privacy.
Breakfast was not really to our liking.
