EASY TO ACCESS BY BIGGER VEHILCE LIKE BUSES. ONSEN IS GOOD AND CONVINENT TO ACCESS. ROOM FACILITIES IS ALSO GREAT WITH ALL NECCESARY NEEDED.

Everything! So close to the station and Main Street. Facilities were amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the onsen and breakfast.

Great location (right before having the drive through town which gets very slow with traffic and easy access from Hakone-Yumoto station - 5 minute walk), easy parking, good sized room, nice view over the river, onsen is pretty but not very large, private onsen available for 45 minutes reservations, historic hotel with nice dinner and breakfast. Luggage storage is helpful when traveling.

Like many Japanese hotels, there is no temperature control in the room - we were initially told it was on cooling (they were worried we were too cold and they hadn't switched to heat yet) but our HVAC was not running at all and we were told that was because the next day was supposed to be cool so they'd shut it down. Our room was far too warm for us. They did bring us a fan and we opened the window. It is a historic hotel, but for the price I don't know that we'd go back. Dinner presentation was nice but not much food for the cost (we've had more courses for less just up the road with a better view and nomihidai, and a better onsen as well). Yukata (the biggest size) were too small for us to wear comfortably/decently, which was disappointing. Private onsen was a nice option but in an enclosed room and couldn't open the door to outside more than a couple inches to see outside or get some fresh air - was ok but been to better. It was a nice stay overall, but again not equivalent with the price.
