Heritage Line Ginger Cruise - Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay

The bay is beautiful!

The personnel is uninspired, as is the food! The room smells quite stuffy! The massages were as uninspired and slightly unpleasant as the rest of the services. Far too expensive for what it was and the fact to put tip boxes everywhere and to ask “aggressively “ in a letter for approx. 50€ of tips for two persons is not really helping. Next time, I will choose a more modern boat.

Mooie kamer en veel activiteiten mogelijk. Je vaart (met heel wat andere schepen, maar dat is ok) door het mooie Lan Ha Bay.

Beviel prima. Enige jammere was dat er in de avond naast ons een schip met karaoke lag. Daar kon de hele baai van meegenieten.

Everything was perfect. The staff is amazing. Food was fantastic.

The boat is relatively new, so the ambiance felt good. Room was overpriced, but comfortable. Great bathroom! The staff is very good

Well, getting food poisoning from my dinner and spending 12 hours violently ill is certainly something I won't soon forget! And don't go expecting a sunrise/sunset...it's only if you get lucky. For me, the "outing" of taking a tender to a "genuine" village was a bore. But if you like bike riding into and out of a jungle, seeing a handful of rundown buildings and having the villagers look at YOU like you're idiots, go for it. I was safely in a golf cart, but hideously bored for 2 hours. The others also seemed to enjoy the morning kayak ride. The manager James "Bond", who I finally called at 7am for help, brought me a rehydration powder and GI meds and let me stay in the room until it was literally time to disembark. However, when presenting me with my bill, I saw that I was charged for the 2 Perrier I had consumed (the overall bill having been pre-paid). Wouldn't you think this same manager, who knew about my wretched experience, would have said, "we've waived these charges as a small apology"...? Nope!
