Superior staff and service

An Absolutely Wonderful Cruise..everything was amazing and the staff went out of their way to make it special and elegant. The food on board was plentiful and delicious..and a mix of buffet and seated fine dining. We certainly didnt go hungry. Daily activities that you could opt to participate in or stay on board and relax. Certainly much more expensive than many of the the other cruises, but if you want something a bit more special and classy, quieter and less crowded than the big boats, plus the bonus of a quieter bay - than I highly recommend Bhaya Cruises. We did the Au Co 2 night cruise and it was perfect.

Just an observation - I felt that Vietnamese style coffee - coffee, ice, condensed milk would have been a lovely free addition to the morning buffet. You could purchase it from the bar, but everywhere else we stayed in Northern Vietnam over 3 weeks, provided it at no extra charge.

Boat picked you up from terminal and didn’t have to take a 45min speed boat to boat. Staff were lovely and helpful . Food was very good .

Rooms very small and need an upgrade Wouldn’t call it 4 star . Had to pay for almost everything including a Jasmine tea and coffee if wasn’t a normal tea or black coffee . Had to go and ask for bathroom amenities as not supplied in room . No tea or coffee jug in room . Spent 2hrs ferrying the 1nite people back to dock and waiting another 2hrs for next people to come on . Not expecting that …

Too expensive for what you get Service before and after the cruise was disappointing: The transport to Ha Long Bay: eight people were picked up but there was only space for four suitcases. As we were picked up last, it was nearly impossible to fit our suitcases in the car. One was put between the passengers which made the ride quite uncomfortable for some of them. If one pays over 800 EUR for a two day cruise and an extra 80 USD for the transfer, one can expect a pick up with a car that is suited for all the people and their luggage and also that one doesn’t have to drive two hours with a suitcase crammed against their legs. Also, the 20 min break was at the end of the two hour ride and not at a nice cafe or restaurant but at a tourist shopping location. The housekeeping did move around our private stuff a lot and they did some damage too. They even threw away something of mine that was standing on my nightstand. This is unacceptable! When I contacted customer relations about the damage they apologised but did not even offer any reimbursement. Only after I specifically requested it they agreed to pay some reimbursement but still only for a part of my damage.
