Best scrambled eggs I've ever had for breakfast in a hotel. The husband and wife team that run the hotel are very helpful and welcoming.

Historic hotel in Laon.

Spacious room in centuries-old hotel, furnished in elaborate vintage style with half-tester canopy above the bed. Good location for visiting Laon. Some parking spots are available at the hotel. Nice breakfast.

A hotel full of character and charm

Excellent location so close to the cathedral, the hotel could use some tlc but it has a charm and character and I would return, garage parking is available but not suitable for your extra large vehicles. We were lucky to experience street parties during our visit in August, highly recommend

Bed very comfy Breakfast was superb Location very good for visiting the cathedral and mediaeval town.

Decor in room was very dark. Very noisy at night. Mopeds and squabbling neighbours but I realise hotel owners can't do much about that.

Full of history, charm, and warmth! Right in Laon’s old town, steps from the cathedral, with friendly host

The location was fabulous- within a few minutes walk of lots of restaurants and the Cathedral. The host was very friendly and spent time chatting with us over a nightcap!

The bed, whilst comfortable and would’ve been great for one person dipped a bit in the middle! Not a major issue as we were only there one night and had a decent sleep.

Expecting a continental breakfast but it also included cooked food as well and delicious jams . The hotel very old but decorated in a sympathetic pleasing style. The hotel owner couldn’t do enough to please us.

Very peaceful room with no traffic noise and a nice view over the roof tops.

Entrance to the secure parking is quite tight if you have a larger sized car, had to fold mirrors in to get through.

Beautiful old property situated within walking distance of the cathedral. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and offered us lots of information on the local area. The room was beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was an excellent selection of continental food. Highly recommended.

Great location close to the motorway. Located in an historic town and near the magnificent cathedral. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Secure parking (although access is very tight - wouldn’t accommodate a large car)

A very nice stay in a property in a central location but with need for some refurbishment.

The location and possibility of parking in such a central location. A very historic property full of character. The breakfast. The nice hosts. The size of the room.

As other people have said the hotel does now need some internal improvement like new carpets etc. but I think it might be difficult to do this easily and inexpensively in such an historic property which perhaps would have some government regulations? The mattress certainly needed to be changed in our room as my partner and I had to 'climb' away from each other because of the dip in the middle of the mattress. Not a problem in your 20s but not in your 60s! :))

Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was great. There was secure parking. It was situated in the old town in a lovely, historic building.

The standard of fitments, decoration and finishings. Cleanliness around exposed pipework, skirtings, bath overflow drain etc. The black PVC headboards. We didn't like having to hand in our room key when we went out in the evening, and pick it up it from a tray full of keys on our return. It didn't feel secure for leaving passports etc in our room.

Eclectic, historic and super welcoming

Historic and "quirky" hotel. Very friendly and welcoming staff, helping with luggage and chatting about the speckled history of the hotel which has been operating since 1680s. Excellent location inside the fabulous and historic fortified old town. Car parking available but very tight spaces. Breakfast was very good with a fair choice of things. The room was big and the beds enormous and very very comfy. Furniture most eclectic and the bathroom surprisingly modern.

Bit noisy on main narrow street but when new windows were closed, it was perfect for a good night's sleep.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the historic town

The hotel, dating from the 18th century, is situated on the hill in the historic area of Laon. It is unusual in all aspects. The rooms are lovingly furnished in a personal, quirky style which we liked. Our room on the 2nd floor was at the back of the building and very quiet. The hotel has been in family hands for many generations which is reflected in the care the owners take for the building, its furnishings and in the welcoming way they deal with clients. An excellent breakfast with home made jams and organic eggs is served in a cosy, comfortable room and the old restaurant which is not always open, looks fabulous.

The bed was a bit too short for my husband.

Lovely little hotel, full of old-time French charm. Situated in the centre of the town it was ideal for sightseeing.

There was no restaurant (or at least it was closed on the day we stayed). There was also no bar at the hotel to get refreshments. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

This hotel was a regular stop on the way to and back from skiing trips in the 1980's and early 90's. It had a fine restaurant and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately there seems to have been no investment in the hotel since we last visited it 20 years ago. The place was very dated nearly dilapidated in some ways, our bedroom door would not close, beds very tired restaurant food acceptable from a very short menu, but a good wine list. We did not stay for breakfast.
