Medieval building in prime location with excellent host.

Amazing building in a prime location. The host is exceptional and the breakfast was excellent value for money with coffee, juice, croissants, jams and the freshest bread I have ever come across.

I would prefer a duvet to sheets and blankets but that is personal preference

What a wonderful surprise to be beside the Cathedral. Loved Laon, with it's amazing architecture.

Amazing Medieval City and we were staying right in the middle. Incredible views all around. Liked the continental breakfast with local pastries,bread,and orange juice with normal hot drinks. Asked if we'd like more tea/coffee etc which was great as it is a personal taste to drink one cup or a couple of cups of coffee or tea. I lked absolutely everything.

The only thing I can think of very dated shower.

Hotel oozed charm and character - our room was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful welcome to the hotel which set us up for an enjoyable stay in Laon. Breakfast is traditional French - not to everyone's liking, but we enjoyed it

Central - near restaurants. Quiet.

Stairs to bedroom were narrow & steep and badly lit. Room was in the eaves with old beams and joists making movement tricky. Street outside closed for renovation work to another property. No parking at hotel. We were lucky to find a parking space in near-by square.

Good for a stopover.

Certainly characterful. We found a restaurant next to the cathedral a short walk from the hotel. There was safe parking in the square nearby (free until 9 am).

As a group we would have liked a lounge area to sit together. Breakfast wasn’t expensive but was a bit basic. It was ok for a car but I wouldn’t have been happy parking my motorbike on the square for the night.

Beautiful old hotel very close to the Cathedral.

It was such a lovely old building and the owner, Matthieu, was extremely warm and helpful in all. We stayed in an attic suite (family room) with a great bathtub. Thankfully he helped us with getting our bags up numerous flights. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the water was hot. Every room is different. Ours had great views and accommodated us perfectly.

We enjoyed a nice continental breakfast, pretty standard, bread, butter, jam, coffee, and croissants for an extra £16 each. A bit pricy, but Laon doesn’t open up early, so we were glad to have it.

Nice town, lovely place to stay.

This is a great little hotel for a stop-over or short break. We stayed last year and really liked it. It's a very old building and the stairs are steep, but the rooms are comfortable and clean and it's full if character. Breakfast is simple - freshly baked bread and croissants, juice and good coffee. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. You can park in the adjacent square overnight free of charge and there are other car parks in walking distance. There are a number of restaurants nearby, although on Sunday and Monday evenings not all if them are open.

Great hotel in a charming old town.

The hotel is located in the heart of Laon, in the medieval part of the city, within walking distance of all the main sights. It’s ideal for those who wish to explore the charming old streets on foot. The building once served as the palace of a Marshal of France. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and we were served an excellent breakfast.

For us this is a perfect hotel as a stop off point when we head back towards the tunnel.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in the hotel. We were given a very spacious room on the top floor which was perfect as we were travelling with our 2 dogs. I have always enjoyed staying here as it is very centrally located, the owner is very personable and helpful.

I think they have tried to save money on the bath as it is very flexible so when you are having a shower you worry that the bath might crack. But this is a minor comment.

Pretty and central tourist hotel

Lovely hotel building, nice staff, wonderful location in the heart of Laon.

The room was so cold in January and even with extra bedding a rough night. Not easy to find the WiFi code if there was one. Bed mattress was hard.

Overall considering the price and location I’d have to say it was value for money but does require a bit of sprucing up.

Great historical building in the centre of town with a large public car park adjacent to it. Room, bathroom and bed were large and comfortable. Host Jean Michel was friendly and attentive at breakfast. Large bath was a bonus as most hotels only have showers.

Hotel is a little tired and requires a bit of work here and there (as old buildings often do). Perhaps hard word floors over carpet in reception area and lounge and a few pictures on the walls of the bedroom and maybe new flooring with a few rugs just to soften it up a bit. Bath was great for us but if you prefer a shower there was nowhere to attach the shower to the wall and no shower curtain so you would have to hold it whilst sitting in the bath.

Basic but fine for one night.

The location is fabulous -short walk from the cathedral and ramparts and choice of restaurants and bars. The man running the hotel was lovely. Breakfast was good - lovely fresh bread and good coffee. Interesting old building. Price ok for the location.

The bathroom wasn't in the best repair. Paint peeling off the walls. The pillows were really flat- we both put our towels underneath to try give a bit more volume.

Great place for a stopover to or from the Channel ports.

Great place for a first or last stopover en route for Calais. Good breakfast. All round good value. Plus Laon is a very interesting town with an amazing cathedral. Second time we have stayed here and we would certainly come again.
