Hôtel Les Chevaliers

We have stayed in this hotel many times previously but this is the first time booked through booking.com The hotel is perfectly located in the historic centre of Laon which itself is a beautiful medieval city. It is a great stop over destination on the way from or back to the ferry or tunnel in Calais. The City is very much an up and coming destination with new bars and restaurants having opened since we were last there. The hotel is quirky in the best possible way and we will be back there soon.

Our room had an old bath tub which was not conducive to a quick morning get away.

The is hotel is in a great location in the middle of the town. You can park in the square for free (you need to leave a clock in your car) for a maximum of one and a half hours during the day. The hotel also has a garage close by. This is a very old building, full of character but with a very steep and winding staircase. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was the standard croissant, bread, fruit juice and coffee. I liked the hotel and will go back but the bathroom was definitely in need of refurbishment. My room at the back of the hotel had a great view.

The location is fantastic. Close to the ramparts and the Cathedral. Matthieu was very welcoming and friendly.
