Disappointed to find our deluxe room was a disabled one - there was no mention of this on the confirmation. This wouldn't have normally been a big issue but when we had a shower the water covered the whole bathroom right up to the door to the bedroom, so clearly the room hadn't been designed properly as the water wasn't draining away. Also, there was no shower gel in the shower. Spoke to reception who managed to move us after one night to a better room. Staff were helpful, breakfast was good although items weren't replenished very quickly. These niggles did put us off a little.so we probably wouldn't return unfortunately.

Had a good stay in Royal Whitby. Our room was a long way away from the lift, though.Unfortunately, the hotel is under renovation so there were some scaffoldings outside our windows blocking the sea views, otherwise, it would be perfect. The location is very good, can walk to the piers and city centre within 15 minutes.

Room offered on 3rd floor has no lock for sash window , another alternative on same floor has same issue and we were told it is the case with every room on that floor and renovation works were taking place and felt unsafe as anyone can get in using scaffolding but their answer was no safety issue in Whitby . After sensing our unhappiness 3rd option was given to upgrade with additional cost which we declined. Finally we were offered another room on top floor with view overlooking car parking which we accepted as it was a renovated room with secured window lock.
Hotel said onsite parking but did not mention it is chargeable and overnight parking cost £6.25 including admission fees if paying using QR code
