Sensational. Being in Gowna was a dream come true. We were not there for modern luxury

Best staff I’ve come across everyone couldn’t do enough for you so friendly and welcoming felt so appreciated as a guest, most comfortable bed you could ask for it was huge I had a wonderful sleep, Sasha checked us in she’s such a lovely girl, all staff are well trained and the breakfast was second to none , will certainly return , thank you so much to all the lovely staff for a lovely stay

Mostly that we in the middle of Loch Gowna. Nicola, the most welcoming lovely lady. Marcella prepared a lovely breakfast on Friday and Saturday. The atmosphere was lovely, it’s an old country pub.

Just a few suggestions. Bed lamps would be a great addition Instructions on how to use the shower would be helpful. The room was very cold on Saturday night.

Very friendly staff, room was larger than expected, bed was super comfortable and shower although small was good. Our dinner was really nice and served really quickly. Breakfast was provided by the B&B next day and was lovely with very friendly ladies

Very cold , bedroom window open wide in month of October when shown to room took ages to warm up .. asked for double bed got two different height of singles pushed together!! Breakfast full of pepper which wasn’t great but ate it as hungry really bad view of rubbish outside bedroom window

The price reflects the facility. The hotel is not luxurious, but is spotlessly clean. It's staff are it's biggest asset. Next to the excellent food.

Hate to complain or write anything negative and very rarely do but.. Smoke alarm constantly chirping. Said to lady at 2.45pm day of check in and unfortunately still wasnt fixed 2 days later on check out. Sent them a message online about it also but no one replied or explained about why it was noisy whole time of stay after we mentioned it Bed springs completely broke on one of our beds. Told the lady who said there were no other mattresses and to swap one off our spare bed ourselves........ Bar was nice but a lot of very drunk rowdy punters so wasn't nice when trying to eat. Not even a bar of soap never mind shower gels or shampoo available in bathroom. No window in there so got very steamy. A lot of things broken like fan, door chain, lamp, shower door handle which I fixed all of them myself whilst there. A bit of care would make place a lot better. Lights flickered a lot in bathroom and in breakfast dining area so maybe electrical faults and why fire alarm was beeping? Who knows.

Great place to stay

If you are looking for the Ritz, then this is not it - it is rooms above a pub in a small village with some amazingly friendly locals. However if you want somewhere that is welcoming, friendly, cosy and easy to get to and from, then this is a great place to stay. The room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. We stayed here whilst my daughter took part in a 3 day horse show in Cavan Equestrian - it took about 30 minutes to get to/from the equestrian centre to the pub/rooms. The breakfast was served in a restaurant / cafe downstairs just next to the pub, and was cooked by an incredibly friendly lady, who was more than happy to adjust breakfast times or orders to suit what we wanted. It was quick, hot and tasty. We stayed on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night so the pub was, understandably busy and the room we had was just over the pub entrance, so with the window open we could hear peoples conversations as they stood outside....nothing earth shattering! The noise was done relatively early into the evening and then it was a peaceful nights sleep. The food in the pub was good, with lots of options and came relatively quickly - local patrons of the pub were really friendly ! My husband and I, due to work and other commitments swapped over during the 3 night stay so we both experienced the place, and both agreed that next time we are up for another show we will stay here again !

Loved our stay, will stay again!

Location superb, convenient to drive all around Ireland. Cavan is beautiful with many parks and water bodies, pure air and relaxing. Has pubs, restaurants and take away wrap counters,! Breakfast is personally served by Susan, hot and fresh and prompt!

We stayed for 7nights, so room, towels and sheets should have been cleaned/ changed twice. Pub visitors can get noisy during weekends but can be adjusted.

Interesting location to visit in Ireland
