Budget-friendly hotel with welcoming host.

Room is lovely and has a romantic venetian setting. Bath is spacious. The host was very warm, friendly and welcomed us with a fine Prosecco. He patiently attended to all our queries and suggested some activities on the Island. Located in heart of Venice: San Marco Though we did not try the breakfast, a friend of mine enjoyed a sumptuous continental one, with lots of fresh fruit, omelette and yogurt.

Hotel was quite hard to find, with no easily visible signboard.

I had a great time and I'll definitely be back!

I go once a year to Venice for years now. And I always stay in this hotel. The area is perfect! Walking distance to most places (San Marco, Rialto, Accademia etc), really close to the vaporetto and alilaguna stop, and nice restaurants and cafes around. There's also a drinking fountain nearby where I fill up my water bottle. And it's not in the middle of the tourist chaos. The hotel is really cosy, great breakfast and the staff is amazing!! Super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Melissa, in particular is an angel!! I feel like it's my home in Venice.

The fixtures are not brand new or modern if that's what you are looking for, but I don't mind at all as everything works perfectly.

The whole venician experience!

The place was beautiful, well decorated and looked very real Venician style. Extremely well located, next to a canal and 2 minutes from a vaporetto station. Staff is extremely friendly and breakfast is amazing. Loved our stay’

The bed, the wooden planks kept falling down when we got into bed, they were broken and i guess the host knew about that because they were already duck-taped.

Great location to all the sites!

Location was awesome- so easy to get to San Angelo vaporetto station or walking to Rialto bridge or Saint Marks square. Nice restaurants just 5 minutes away.

While the staff were very friendly, the hotel desk is usually unattended. I was able to contact them through WhatsApp if I had any questions.

Cool Airbnb near the canal.

It was close to the canal, which was great for departure. You will need to be physically able to carry your luggage up a narrow, steep set of stairs. The room was good and the bed comfortable.

The listing made you think breakfast was included, but we saw no evidence of that. No one was there in the morning. More timely responses via messaging. We couldn't get messages returned so had to call to reach anyone, as there was no staff on site on arrival or departure, they did come by and left as soon as we checked in, it was their first day so they weren't too knowledgable to be able to answer any questions but they were pleasant. A heads-up that the canal was closed the day we would have been great and helped us plan our arrival better. The directions we got were not accurate, as we couldn't get there via the canal and had to carry our luggage across town. The air conditioning was not adequate, and we lost power. It was more of an Airbnb than a hotel.

Great staff but overpriced for quality of room

The hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating.

For what the room was (very simple with not a very pleasant canal view) I felt it was overpriced. The room also did not have an ironing board or steamer and I was there for work, so that was a challenge. The toilet broke on the first day, but the staff were very responsive in having it fixed. The canal view is not very pleasant and they charged extra for it.

Loved Venice but I would request a different room than the one I stayed in.

The location of the hotel was great! The water bus station was close and this was centrally located.

The room was rather unfortunate. They should warn you that you can stand upright in half the room. The room had a slanting roof and not much space. The room was a bit moldy and my allergies acted up in the room. The hotel is old and warn but what can you ask of Venice? Also, they didn't have a Do Not Disturb sign so they automatically clean your room.

Just the location and comfortable bed. Clean.

1. It's not a hotel but more of an appartment, with a part time person at the reception. 2. You have to climb up three steep flights of stairs with your luggage just to reach the reception area. This should have been clarified bby booking.com too. 3. The breakfast is just ok. And if ur a vegetarian 😦 u need to inform them a day prior!

We had a wonderful stay

We had a great stay at Locanda Antico Fiore. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and all you need to start your day. The rooms whilst a little basic due to the age of the building are very clean and comfortable. It is in a great location for your transfers to and from the airport being a short walk to the S Angelo canal stop. Whilst being a little removed from the main areas of Venice this is a bonus as it’s really quiet but still within a very pretty short walk of everywhere.

The property doesn’t have a lift and the stairs are quite steep which makes carrying luggage a little difficult. In saying that the staff were very eager to help.

A delight after 2 frightful Venice hotels

I booked this room last minute as I had to leave a hotel room I'd booked as it was disgusting & uninhabitable. I didn't know what to expect from this room& was just hoping it was better than my 2 previous experiences in Venice. I couldn't have been more satisfied with what I found. I literally turned up, was let in and told my room number& picked up key. My attic room was so comfortable, clean, quiet& safe. It was a little oasis after a sleepless night in a previous hotel. The bed was exceptional quality, better than most hotels& the tea& coffee was a much appreciated addition that I've rarely seen outside of Ireland & UK. If I ever return to Venice I will certainly be staying here. Exceptional

great location but impersonal place with no-one to ask advice from.

great location, close to everywhere yet quiet. stairs VERY steep to climb. Room ok, why two showers? Nice to have tea and kettle. and Wifi. Lovely lady at reception in the mornings.

Self check-in - already not a great start not to have someone greet you. Couldn't turn heating off so it was boiling in the room (in March). had to open windows (not environmentally friendly to have to do so) and so were bugged with flies/mosquitos? which bit us. No power one evening on our return and although owner was called nothing was done as no member of staff is actually on-site to action an issue. Power was restored the next day. On our last morning the shower water wasn't hot. When we departed (at 8.20am) we told the reception lady that we were catching the water bus back to the Tronchetto parking. She failed to mention that it didn't run until 10am ! Just useful information would have made our travel day a lot easier. I'm not a fan of not having someone 'on duty' or in house - the owner really did not show any interest in who was staying in his/her establishment. We never met him/her.

Nice location, view to a canal from one side, I liked that the floor was tilting as hard as it did to one side.

No one worked there full time, bad instruction “how to get here” (we spent one hour out and 20 minutes back, because on the way back we figured out how). I asked if we could leave the luggage at the reception before leaving the hotel the next day and they said yes. When we came to pick it up all the doors were open and now one in the reception, apart from two others that was picking up their luggage. Not safe at all.

The best thing was the location and the young woman who served us breakfast and cleaned our rooms. Breakfast was limited but was ok.

If you are travelling with a lot of luggage, DO NOT STAY HERE! There is no elevator. Our rooms were on the first floor and we had to go up 32 steps to reach reception and our rooms. They did help us with our luggage but obviously they had no choice. Not worth the struggle. Gentleman who checked us in stated that the booking website said there was no elevator but there is nothing on Booking.com which states so.
