Needs Proper Sound Proofing

Good location

As with all best westerns it was very underwhelming. Rooms were ok size but AC didn't work and there was limited sound proofing. So we all woke up at 5am when a truck stopped outside our window.

A lovely stay in an amazing location in a gorgeous old city.

The location was AMAZING. The breakfast was expensive, but really good. Staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas downstairs were very pretty and comfortable, and the exterior and plantings were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was quiet and looked over rooftops. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we'd had another night to spare here.

The upstairs corridors were pretty tired, and the rooms were small and plain. But, it is an old hotel, with the great and not as great that comes with that.

Lovely city centre hotel

The room was compact but comfortable and well equipped. Bathroom was also clean and towels were of good quality. The city centre location was superb and being able to park the car a real bonus. Breakfast was as good as we've had in France, though pricey for what we actually eat.

Finding the hotel by car was a little difficult, having to drive round one way cobbled roads a couple of times before eventually spotting it, but that's not unusual for an old town centre hotel.

Could do better.

The hotel is in a perfect situation for visiting the outstanding sights of Bourges. There is on-site garage parking.

A couple of days before we were due to arrive at the hotel, from our farmhouse holiday in the Dordogne, we were notified that the air conditioning was broken. Given that heat wave conditions were forecast, this was bad news. The hotel offered free cancellation, but did not offer advice or help about alternative accommodation. At the hotel we learned by accident that the air conditioning was not working on our floor, but was working on the floor above. I wrote to the manager, asking why we had been allocated a room with no air conditioning. I still have received no reply. Normally a four star Best Western in France supplies dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries. There were none in our room: they were available on request, presumably in the hope that not all guests would ask for them.

Honestly this was the best hotel we have stayed in so far on our two week road trip through Italy, France and the UK. The room was large, bright and airy, the bed was super comfortable, the linens were crisp and clean, the bathroom was huge with two sinks and plenty of space to put all our paraphernalia. The room was quiet, the parking was secure and convenient and the staff were friendly and helpful. Good WiFi, a very central location, and the room and bathroom were immaculate. Absolutely everything you could ask for in a hotel. Would highly recommend.

Great location so close to all restaurants and the cathedral. It was important to us to have secure parking. While we had to pay for this it was great to have. The young lady on reception was fantastic- so friendly and helpful.

Fix the climate control, answer the phone, and for god's sake boost the Wifi.

The building and site are beautiful and wonderfully located. The front desk staff was very pleasant in person.

When I called from my room, the front desk never would answer. I finally used my cell phone to call from outside, and they answered right away. They turned on the air conditioning every afternoon and it was already a cold building, but there was no way to regulate it from my room. Also the Wifi was extremely slow and totally inadequate.

Excellent, friendly, well-located hotel

The suite was perfect for me and my kids - we had space to spread out and do our own thing. The bed was very comfortable and I slept remarkably well. Breakfast was a good assortment of foods with something for everyone. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
