Old Town Hostel

A beautiful central place in a historic building. Facilities were incredible despite building age, rooms had beautiful air conditioning!!! . The host/receptionist An-Maria (im so sorry if I got your name wrong!!!) was so lovely and helped me out when I wasn’t feeling the best! As a solo female traveller I felt so safe, made some incredible friends here!

Cot beds arent the best but honestly it wasnt even a big deal because the facilities were so great, very comfortable sleeps, and it draws a great crowd!

Michael provided excellent customer service during check-in, which made a great first impression. The location inside the Old Town walls was fantastic and very convenient for exploring Dubrovnik. The private 2-person room and shared bathroom were both very clean and well maintained.

What I liked the most was the location and that our room had a balcony and just 2 beds for me and my friend. It made me feel like I was staying in a very nice place given the old town is usually the most expensive part of the city. There was a nice restaurante right outside the hostel, where we went for dinner, and the pierre was very close, as well as supermarkets and shops.

I think the staff could have sent me a message with instructions regarding how to reach the hostel. When I checked on google maps the instructions weren't clear and I ended up walking for 50minutes, on my period, and the heat. When I arrived, I encontered a lot of stairs in the hostel, something I wasn't expecting either. In short, the staff could have been a bit more proactive. Lastly, the fridge was dirty and full of expired food. There was a poster of: looking for staff, so I understand that the lady working there had too much on her plate and was going to quit soon but still... she could have tried a bit harder.

Location is perfect!!! Every good site is 5 to 7 minutes by walking. The room was small but private. There was a fan, AC, closet, huge window, and a sink. Bedsheets were clean. There were many blankets in the closet. Bathroom was literally two feet away (right next door). This room (3A) is on third floor so not a lot of people were around and it was not noisy at night. Both check-in and check-out were smooth. I was allowed to check in late (around 12:30AM). They let you store your luggage at the property after checking out.

As mentioned by other people, the room shares a wall with the bathroom so between 6AM-11AM there will be a lot of noise. There is only one washroom (toilet/shower) per floor so there was a lot of traffic and noise early in the morning (you will not be able to sleep between these hours even if you try). The main door was unlocked the whole night and the only safety between you and the outside strangers is the key to your room so make sure your room is locked before going to bed or outside. While luggage storage is an option, you will put your luggage near the front door on or around a bench and reception desk is not always manned so leave your luggage at your own risk.
