Great views and Ante was an amazing host!

The unit had an amazing view of the ocean from the room balcony and the sunsets were amazing. Ante was a great host, communicated effectively and provided superior recommendations for attractions and restaurants. We would stay here again the next time we’re in the area.

The room was a bit small, but the views more than made up for the size. Additional pillows would have been a plus.

Super nice and comfortable

We had such a wonderful stay at S&L! From the very start, Ante gave us the warmest welcome and even offered to pick us up from the main bus station. When we checked in, he took the time to share tons of helpful tips and little hacks about the city, everything from the best spots to visit to ways to save time and money. Our room was spotless and cozy, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. To make things even better, Ante went above and beyond by giving us a free ride to the Old Town so we could start our first day of exploring without any hassle. I can’t recommend S&L Giesthouse enough. Whether you choose one of the new rooms or the older ones, you will be in great hands. Thank you, Ante, for your amazing hospitality. We will definitely be back!

Very happy with my stay

The location is super good! Far from the crowd, yet close to the bus stop that can take you to the old town. The host is super nice! He took me to the old town by his motorcycle. He also made a lot of suggestions and recommended some very nice restaurants in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik stay

The apartment was a decent size with a bathroom which included a shower, wash hand basin, and toilet. The kitchen had the basic appliances and sufficient space and the bedroom was spacious. The host provides a pick up service free of charge. The host has a map of Dubrovnik inside the kitchen and he pointed out where we were located, the nearest supermarkets and bakeries, the bus stops (and had the bus timetables printed too) and recommended places to eat in the Old City - the recommendations were excellent. The area the apartment is located in is quiet and it is air conditioned with blackout shutters. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables and a washing line for drying clothes after a day at the beach.

There is no safe in the apartment for storing valuables. There are some steps to go up and down to access the property.

The balcony with an amazing view over Dubrovnik was really nice!

Our neighbors were quite loud late at night. They were talking to our host, maybe they could’ve waited for that till the morning. We liked al the information the host gave us, maybe write it down for the future.

Couple travel one night stay

We stayed one night at the guesthouse. Although the studio didn’t have a balcony, the little front yard terrace was a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee. Ante was very helpful, offering us a free ride to the port and great recommendations on what to see and where to go in Dubrovnik. The apartment wasn’t newly refurbished, but it was very clean and cosy, with a comfortable bed and everything working perfectly.

The only window in the room opened onto the front entrance terrace, which made us feel a bit exposed and lacking privacy

A perfect place to call home for a few days.

Ante is the host with the most! From picking us up at the marina to highlighting bus routes and other important information, he helped us TREMENDOUSLY! The efficiency was clean, well kept and just the right amount of space. The view from the terrace was breathtaking. The location was close enough to easily get to the Old Town but far enough away to get away from the crowds. Just can't say enough!!

Everything was great! Climbing steps and/ or hills is a part of Dubrovnik. If you don't want to do that, then don't stay in Dubrovnik! On the facility side, definitely not a complaint but a suggestion...having a little shelf standing level in the shower would be nice. Since the shower is limited space, not having to constantly bend over would be appreciated from we" older" travelers!😀

Helpful host made such a difference to my day

Ante was such a helpful host, I was an emergency booking with a late night cancelled flight, he stayed up and came out to meet me, and then took me to the bus station in the morning. I have never met a kinder host. I only saw my room, which was clean, quiet with everything you’d expect from a good guesthouse.

A wonderful experience of Croatian hospitality.

Host Ante, a lovely man, was exceptional. He offered us a higher room with a harbour view at no extra cost. He then briefed us on locations, buses, restaurants, etc which was invaluable. The room was excellent and we had use of a community kitchen, also very useful as was the car parking space. The apartment is only about 25 mins walk to/from the Old Town.

Ante was very nice and helpful. He met us at the port and brought us to the busstation when we left. The place was small but tidy and very well kept and there was a nice terrace and garden to sit in. There was a small kitchen, where we could cook.

Great Place to Stay Dubrovnik

Great location for seeing Dubrovnik and the old town with easy access via plentiful frequent busses. We had room with en-suite and sea view balcony which was really good. Big room nice bathroom with good shower. There is also a kitchen and lounge with tv for guests to use. Lots of other seating areas for guest to use outside in sun or shade. Owner was fantastic so helpful with information and recommendations plus he dropped us at the port when we left on ferry to save us all the steps down there. Highly recommend.

Very nice place to stay, highly recommend

Amazing place to stay, everything is somewhat nearby (though you probably would want to use a bus to get to the old town or beaches). The host was exceptionally helpful when we arrived we sat for half an hour where he gave us a map, explained everything (buses, timetables, locations, what should we visit etc)

The AC is on the opposite wall from the bed, and blowing in your head while you sleep. We moved the bed to the other wall and slept in reverse to hack around it though 😛

Amazing stay

We loved everything in the apartment, we felt like at home. Amazing view, parking available, which was very important in Dubrovnik. Nice and very friendly owner gave us lots of handy advices about city. He even gave us ride to the city center.

Superb

The room was good overall - clean and we had everything we needed. The sea view was amazing. The bus station is very close, so you can easily reach the old town (FYI, there are quite a few steps you have to climb when you come back home, but we didn't mind the exercise 😂). The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The only thing a bit uncomfortable is that our bathroom was separate to the room. We had to step into the common hallway to go the bathroom, but we were the only ones using it.

The guesthouse is located very close to the city’s port. Next to it there is a small convenience store and a bakery just a few food steps away. The old city is accessible with buses, which bus stops are close to the guesthouse, or by walking . The host was always very helpful and polite.

Brilliant place to stay.

Beautiful apartment complex, everything very stylish and premier, with amazing views over the bay, and the place is always kept clean and well maintained. Host is very helpful, honest and attentive and can give you any guidance you need about Dubrovnik and the surrounding area. Grocery shops a couple of minutes away, 15 minute walk to bus station, ferry port, bakery, supermarket. There is a bus stop just outside the apartment which takes you to the old town in about 15 minutes.

It was all really great....there are about 25 steps up to the property from the street, which is something to consider for over 60s or people with bad legs/cardiac issues etc. However if that is the case you can simply get an uber or taxi round to the top end and then there will only be a few steps. I also imagine the host would help out with any mobility issues.

Very comfortable apartment with brilliant sunset view. Not far from beach or city centre. Everywhere you can walk or take a bus to explore Dubrovnik. Host Ante was very welcoming and friendly. Explain everything about City and help us with transfers to bus station. :)

Awesome host made the experience

I’ve never had a better host experience, including on Airbnb. To have someone offer to drive me to the top of a mountain, offer me a welcome dessert, or drive me to the bus station when I’m checking out was an extremely novel experience.

The location was just ever so slightly out of the way (25 minutes walk to the old town), so the food options were slightly more limited. Bud stops nearby did solve that of course.

Great stay

We had a great stay. The room and the facilities were very comfortable and homey. Ante helped us a lot with tips for our trip in Dubrovnik. He even took us for a morning visit in the viewpoint near the car cable. We had a warm welcome with juice and homemade Apple pie.

The location requires a bus to visit the old town, and need to pay attention for the bus schedule otherwise it will waste you long time waiting.

Exceptional services and enjoyable stay

very helpful and friendly staff. Ante went well beyond his normal duty to help us to enjoy our stay and trip. He picked us up at the main bus station/ferry terminal. He also gave us a ride to the best view point near the cable car top. He gave us all information we need to explore the city and old town such as bus route, restaurants, markets, etc. Upon our arrival, he gave us a desert dish, a carton of apple juice, home grown oranges. He also picked grapes for us from his home grown grape vines. Nobody beats his exceptional services. He is also just a nice person!
