City Walls Hostel

“The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful, especially Paco from Spain. The hotel is very central. There are many places to visit in the surrounding area, and beautiful beaches. There are restaurants in the lower part of the city. It is very safe. Yes, I liked it.

What I didn’t like was basically nothing — everything was perfect.

O Hostel é bem localizado, fica dentro da cidade antiga. Tem muitas escadas, mas isso ja era esperado. Funcionários muito receptivos e prestativos, sempre simpáticos e ajudando muito. O local é muito limpo, arejado e bem iluminado. A cama tem conforto razoável, mas lençol e toalha limpos. Tudo muito organizado.

Very clean hostel, lovely staff and great ameneties. 4-bed dorm at the top is the best :)

Nothing

The location was decent, near most spots in the old town. Everything was clean and well prepared.

The hostel has only one bathroom for six beds on the first floor, which is clearly insufficient. When I took a shower on Friday night, there was no hot water left. I was assigned the top bunk, and unfortunately there were no power outlets nearby, which made charging my phone quite inconvenient. Most hostels nowadays use electronic access systems, which are far more practical. Here, you’re forced to carry a physical key and pay a security deposit just to do so, which feels completely unnecessary and frankly illogical. One last observation: it’s understandable when hostels charge for a locker or dedicated storage space after check-out. But charging guests just to leave their luggage at the front desk makes no sense either.
