Great accommodation and base to explore Cinque Terre.

The room was great and Barbara is a fantastic host. The location is excellent, down by the water, but only a 2-3 min walk to the train station. There is a restaurant and bar at the bottom of the step up to the accommodation. There is a coin laundromat about a 5 min walk away, up past the train station with a very nice cafe next door. The kitchen was very well stocked and restocking was not a problem. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Shower was good. Highly recommend as a base to explore Cinque Terre.

Feeling at home in Vernazza

Barbara’s apartment was absolutely wonderful! It was very comfortable and well supplied. She even provided eggs, fresh tomatoes, pastries, coffee, and tea for our use. She provided absolutely everything and gave very clear instructions for how to locate the apartment and the house rules.

Not a complaint, but travelers should be aware that everywhere in Vernazza has stairs. The apartment was up one flight of stairs, so if you have heavy luggage or walking problems, the stairs would be a challenge.

A spotlessly clean and comfortable apartment managed by a wonderfully hospitable person

Absolutely everything!!! Our host Barbara’s attention to detail ensured our comfort and pleasure. She is possibly the most hospitable host we have ever experienced across 10 lengthy trips to Europe. She is so thoughtful of everything - she even provides an electrical adapter for the specific country of her guests. As for the breakfast provisions, she provided enough food to feed a large family for the 3 nights we were there - a dozen eggs, various packets of cold meets and cheeses, 10 yoghurts, a loaf of bread, a basket full of crisp breads, biscuits, cakes, etc, multiple preserves including her own home made lemon marmalade, a wide assortment of teas and coffee, etc etc etc. She assisted us sort out alternative transport options to Rome when a national rail strike was announced. When we arrived back from dinner on our last night we found a memento gift hanging on our door. The location of Barbara’s apartment is superb - right in the old port but it is quiet enough to ensure a good night’s sleep. If you are looking at spending time in Vernazza, I doubt you could find a better option. Thanks Barbara for a memorable stay.

Authentic accommodation to make you feel like a local for your stay.

Absolutely 10/10 experience. After staying here for 4 nights in August we would recommend this to anyone. The location is exceptional (yes there are some stairs but you will soon learn all of Cinque Terre has stairs) being so close to the main square, restaurants and swimming spots. Barbara had so many little touches on our arrival that made us feel like we were in a home, not just a place to stay. Easy walk to and from train station to go explore the other towns and we always came back to Vernazza for our afternoon swim and dinner. We hope to come back one day ! Thank you Barbara.

Charming, convenient, clean and comfortable.

Easy to find and very close to train, restaurants, beach, shops and trail head. Barbara was very responsive via messages and met us upon arrival. She made recommendations for meals and any questions we had. She left food in the fridge and counter for breakfast and snacks. Wonderful stay to experience Vernazza.

Amazing host, perfect location, comfortable, and quiet.

This was such a cute place and the host, Donna Barbara, thinks of everything. She left us a wonderful spread of snack items, bread, crackers, tea/coffee supplies, and ham, salami, cheese, milk, yogurt, wine, cold water, and eggs in the fridge. Including her delicious lemon spread (sorry, I don't know the exact name of this product). She has the place well-equipped with just about anything you might need. It is in the absolute perfect location close to the harbor and restaurants, yet quiet. It's also just a little walk down the hill from the train station and Donna met us when we arrived in the area of the apartment. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. My daughter used the sofa bed and I never asked her about the comfort but she didn't complain.

I knew in advance from reviews so it was fine for us but there is a steep flight of stairs (no elevator). I'm guessing that's pretty hard to avoid in this area and I would say her place is one of the more minimal flights of stairs. (We met a couple staying somewhere else and they said they not only had long flights of stairs to climb but also a tall spiral staircase!)

Barbara's apartment was perfectly located, very clean, and Barbara was a welcoming host.

We were amazed to be offered so many supplies for breakfast and "riposo" snacks. Barbara's apartment was well-stocked for all of our needs (even a clothesline outside!), and beautiful with art and books.

Our home away from home in Vernazza

Perfect location close to the heart of town. The apartment was large and all facilities were beautiful and clean. Our fabulous host, Barbara met us in the square and showed us to our room with the fridge filled with ample provisions for our two nights including local wine. Nothing was too much trouble for Barbara.

The perfect quiet getaway spot in lively Vernazza

The location was absolutely perfect! Just steps away from all the shopping, hiking, and the beautiful scenery Vernazza has to offer. Our host was extremely helpful and kind. She communicated well before our trip and met us when we arrived. She also was accommodating to our needs. The fridge was well stocked with all the breakfast essentials plus a nice bottle of wine! We actually ended up eating both breakfast and a light dinner in the room each day. There was plenty of shampoo, body wash, and other toiletries you might need in the bathroom. I can not say enough good things about Donna Barbara and her beautiful apartment in Vernazza!

A perfect stay in Vernazza.

DonnaBarbara was perfect for our stay. Our host met us and showed us around the apartment and handed over the keys. We appreciated everything in the apartment...a well stocked refrigerator and pantry goods. We were able to make our own breakfast with everything that was left for us. Vernazza is beautiful...picture perfect...and the entrance to the apartment is right off the main square. Our host went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect and even recommended a local guide for a sunset cruise. Vernazza is not too hilly compared to the other towns and is easily walkable. It was our favorite stay and would certainly book this place again!

Great one bedroom apartment. Barbara met us outside on arrival. A fridge full of goodies and a delicious bottle of wine. So close to the square on the waterfront. Barbara was very helpful on any questions about cinque terre. A fabulous stay.

This is the BEST place to stay in Cinque Terre!!

The location of DonnaBarbara is outstanding... right on the piazza at the waterfront in Vernazza. Barbara met us outside the building as we walked down the street from the train. She could not have been more accommodating! The kitchen is fully stocked with snacks and foods for breakfasts and/or lunches. Copious travel brochures and info are also available in the room. The room is perfect.. very clean and pleasing. It is about a 5 minute walk to the train and even less to the ferry/boat dock for exploring Cinque Terre. There is a clear reason that this is such a highly rated facility-- it along with Barbara-- are simply outstanding!!

Wonderful stay

The location is excellent, only 5 minutes walk from the train station, and right next to the plaza by the water. We communicated with Barbara via WhatsApp, and she gave us all the information about arrival. She met us at the door when we arrived and showed us her apartment. It was a really nice apartment, spacious, clean and comfortable. She prepared a lot food (breads, croissants, cakes, etc.), coffee, tea, as well as milk, juice, yogurt, water, and other items in the refrigerator, mush more than we need for the breakfast. Thanks, Barbara!

Comfortable apartment in fantastic location

Location was amazing! Literally steps from the main square in Vernazza. Even though it was so close to the main square, it was very quiet with double glazed windows. Our host Barbara was lovely and met us for a tour of the apartment. The pantry and fridge were fully stocked with breakfast and other staples. I am planning on staying here again one day.

There was nothing that we didn't like. The only thing that we would have liked was a washing machine. The apartment is reached by a very steep stairwell. This didn't bother us, but something to be mindful of if you have mobility issues.

Great location and great host

Great location and great host. The apartment is close to the station and the beach. Barbara met us at check in. There were lots of breakfast food, a bottle of wine and her homemade cake for us. The good size for us(2 adults, 13yrs and 10 yrs) too. We thank Barbara for letting us stay :)

Great location in the heart of Vernazza

Excellent location just a few steps up from the main square, the harbour and small beach and yet very quiet. Barbara provides a well stocked fridge with lots of goodies along with coffee, tea, wine biscuits and snacks. The room is spacious and has everything you would need should you choose a self- catering stay.
