The Retreat

The location was good, although parking was difficult and we had to lug our bags some distance. The room (or annexe) was beautifully fitted and space efficient and the continental breakfast supplied was more than adequate.

Lovely welcoming hosts, accommodation is very comfortable and has beautiful views inland. Spotlessly clean, and clearly a lot of consideration has been given to the needs and wants of guests.

Other than the small washbasin in the en-suite, there is no means of refilling kettle or doing a bit of washing up - So they provide bottled water for refilling kettle, - plenty of it, but from an environmental point of view, it does mean more plastic usage. Parking is on-street only; - free of charge, we found a space ok, and this was a weekend in August.

The location was easy to find with free car parking in nearby side streets. Shops and pub nearby. Charmouth beach was a short walk away. The studio room with own bathroom was comfortable, very clean, and fully equipped. The fridge was well stocked. The outside terrace had a lovely view of the coastal hills. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. As a solo female travelling, I felt safe in this quiet pleasant retreat.
