A big suprise to find such a lovely place to stay and to feel at home

Kerrington house is close to where our daughter lives and is led by a most dedicated host who does everything her guests feel comfortable. The rooms are clean, nicely furbished and decorated, everything and even more you need is available. They are warm and spacious with a nice view into the nature. Breakfast is extraordinarily rich and prepared with much love. We have received many suggestions for nice outings. We will come again and recommend it to anyone.

Charming english house with fantastic hosts

Fantastic breakfast and a charming old english house with a nice lawn outside which the kids enjoyed, as well as ample parking. Hosts were lovely and made us feel a bit like we were staying with relatives!

Thin walls and spare bed was a foldout so slightly uncomfortable.

Great guest house with a big personality

Lovely setting - just far enough out of town and surrounded by gardens. Warm welcome and very accommodating for my request to park the car in the morning and do some formalities before official check-in time (although this is only possible until 10am). Great breakfast and lovely staff. Some aspects of Kerrington House will be a bit marmite - some will love them, others may not share the style. If you're looking for stripped-back, functional minimalism then this isn't the place -- the furnishings were very plush. Also the owner has an extraordinarily large dog who's very gentle and very much part of the team but it's better to be aware in advance.

I liked everything about the place but it's very characterful so my plus points might not be shared by everyone but if you do your research in the descriptions and photos then you'll know whether it's right for you.

Very stylish and comfortable place to stay

Very comfy mattress. House was lovely and decorated in keeping with the architecture. Loved having 2 arm chairs in our room. Beautiful guest lounge with honesty bar.

Check in arrangements/time did not suit us. There was no flexibility in Check in time or provision of a self Check in option for late arrivals. The bed had a metal 4 poster style frame around and over the mattress which was awkward to negotiate when getting in and out of the bed.

Fantastic Fiona

Fiona the host welcomed us and was very personable and accommodating. Room, lounge (with honesty bar) and garden were fantastic. Breakfast was superb. Only a short 10-min walk away from Axminster's shops and restaurants and 10-min drive to Lyme Regis so perfect location for anyone exploring the Jurassic Coast.

Our triple room was up two flights of stairs, so was a little bit of an effort with suitcases, but couldn't be helped.

Kerrington House - The hidden Gem.

Kerrington House is a wonderful property. it offers all of the comfort of a stately home rather than a hotel. On site parking at no extra charge, secure building in a beautiful homestyle location. Far enough away to be quiet and comfortable but close enough to be convenient. Much nicer than a chain group hotel. You also get incredible views from the Bay Window!

Breakfast choices were very good, full English was super. Good coffee too. You could pretty much make up whatever combination of delights that was on offer. Not rushed at all and excellent service

A superbly authentic, peaceful and happy stay.

A fantastic combination of authentic and comfortable. Host's help with local knowledge. Superb breakfast - faultlessly British, authentic, delicious, absolutely brilliant! Great view from the window. The chessboard in the living room! :)

In all a pleasant stay once you get passed the dog smell

The owner was friendly and helpful. Lovely big dog greeted us Room was pleasant, beautiful sunset views

As much as we love dogs, there is a very strong dog smell as you enter the house and my breakfast came with a few dog hairs, which unfortunately put me off eating it (the service and the coffee was great though) More of a guest house than a hotel.

A very comfortable night in a beautiful house followed by an excellent breakfast.

We were warmly welcomed on a damp and dismal day. Offered a choice of rooms and the one we chose was large, well furnished and very clean. There was ample lighting, including good bedside lamps which is not always the case. The refreshment tray was very well stocked with a large selection of beverages and biscuits. The wet room was large with plenty of towels and toiletries. The breakfast, in the attractive dining room, was freshly cooked to order and excellent with plenty of choice. Would stay here again if in the area and definitely recommend.

A comfortable relaxing stay, I would definitely return

The bed was super comfortable and the bedding very good quality - I had a fantastic nights sleep. The bedroom and bathroom were nicely decorated and obviously being well maintained. Everywhere was very clean and very good water pressure meant a lovely shower.

The only slight niggles were that I didn't enjoy my croissants at breakfast and there didn't seem to be a vegetarian option for a cooked breakfast.

Overpriced B&B

- Girls working there were very nice.

- The reception is only open for 4 hours (4-8pm) unless you pay £40 to leave your bags. - Their "single bed" is a folded sofa bed, which was too old and not comfortable at all. - Their real bed is way too soft to the point it hurts your bag. - Water pressure is weak. - Breakfast had many options to choose but nothing tasted good.

What a gorgeous house! Conveniently located near town centre, Fiona was an excellent hostess giving us pointers as to where to eat etc. the guest house is beautifully maintained, well decorated and clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
