Really nice hotel with good facilities, good food and very clean throughout.

the breakfast was lovely, scrambled egg in particular was perfectly made and really nice coffee. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Room facilities were excellent, large room and bathroom, really comfortable bed and exceptionally clean throughout. On site parking is a bonus.

would have liked a slightly later check out time but only a very minor thing as it encouraged us to get motivated.

all staff especially couple who run it were brilliant

The So called chef needs to go back to cooking college ordered a LAMB taguine it was delivered not ina Taguine dish but a flat plate that was acceptable, but the rice was just out of a packet very lumpy and so much of it,drowed what Lanb there was on the plate. Change cheff and i would give this place 10 out of 10. The Couple that ran it were so [proffessional not met many as good as them well done both a credit to them and thre brewery .dont let them go anywhere else .simly superb,Lawrence.

Comfortable and relaxing

Good food. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Friendly service.

A couple of items in the room, a table mirror and a coffee table, had loose joints which as far as I could see simply needed a few minutes of fettling with an allen key.

The man that greeted us was very friendly and helpful and checked us in even though we were early and they were busy then showed us to our room.

Room was clean and well kitted out nicely decorated. The young man behind the bar on Sunday night was very friendly and chatty really nice young man. Very nice pub would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area.

Rubber Bath Mat was available when requested

The single bed was sloping towards the top of the Bed and needs lifting to level out. Food was good but a little expensive. Breakfast started @ 8.30am making me late for work at my Customers address. 2nd day I left without Breakfast @ 7.15am.

The staff were very kind and understanding, could not have asked for better. The weather was terrible the day I was due to book in so had to keep ringing them with updates, they offered for someone to stay late if necessary to book in. The room was very nice and the bathroom was very very clean.

A pleasant stay in an historical inn with bags of charm

We loved the idea of staying in an old coaching house inn . It didn’t disappoint. Decorating for Christmas with bags of charm it was a nice place for a night. The food was fine, nothing amazing but fine. The staff were friendly and it was clean. We’re staying low season so we were delighted to be able to park in the carpark

The roads around the building are very narrow and busy which made getting in and out of the carpark a challenge.

Historic Coaching Inn with a warm welcome!

Very nice interesting recently restored historic building. Friendly staff very warm welcome for visitors! Safe free car park. Right in the centre of Axminster. Comfortable rooms with a good shower . Quiet rooms recently renovated. Flat screen tv tea coffee facilities. Good WiFi. Great fresh cooked to order breakfast. Reasonable bar prices for a hotel and absolutely great staff.

The pillows were hard & so was the mattress. Room was noisy due to banging from the doors downstairs, settled down later in the evening.

Great location in the centre of Axminster

We're reviewing this as backpackers walking The Monarch's Way long distance foot path. Good hot shower, nice big bathroom with a window and plenty of space in our room - just what we needed after a long walk. Very comfortable bed. Welcoming friendly staff, excellent cooked breakfast and dinner the night before was very good. Part of a chain - they also own the George at Crewkerne (see my review)

Really felt comfortable in this hotel. The staff who worked extremely hard in the evening rush did very well. Our room over looked the road and I was worried about noise, but it wasn't too bad. Very clean room. Fish and Chips were excellent. Good breakfast.

Difficult to find something, but if it was very busy parking might be a problem.

Bedrooms too hot! I couldn't even open window high enough too let any sort of breeze through. Window opened to a measly 5 inches. Bedrooms need a mini fridge. Why offer the kitchen fridge too store visitors stuff when we were denied storing our food that were store packaged properly and to health standards. Coffee mug at breakfast could be bigger. Why not spend money on bedroom aircon and a mini fridge for the room. Staff were excellent but because of inconvenience and discomfort I'm not coming back and I'll be spreading the word!

The hotel was adequate for the price but we were annoyed at being kept awake one night.

It was in a central location. Breakfast food was fine - a simple English breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the shower room was fine.

We were woken at 1:45AM by someone in the space above us - we suspect it was staff. A tv was switched on with the volume loud into clearly hear. It was not switched off until around 2:30AM and we were kept awake. The noise outside started early, and the windows were not double glazed. On the second morning we hadn’t finished breakfast before a cleaner began mopping floors with disinfectant which was unpleasant.

The room was lovely and spotlessly clean, bathroom was spotless too.

We were only told on arrival that food wouldn't be available on Sunday night, but as it was, we worked around that.

It was fine for work, food was ok.

The breakfast was tasty, room was clean with a clean bathroom and good shower. Evening meal was ok, other reviews said how amazing it is but the fish and chips were average for the price.

WiFi did not connect which caused me problems doing work. No option to pay for WiFi that actually works.

An Alice in wonderland experience room 201, plenty of character and a talking point to friends .

the breakfast was good plenty to eat. the room decor was very good and clean

The room 201 took some getting used to as the flooring was raised at each end of wall to wall and lower in the middle. the staircase was difficult to climb whilst carrying suitcases and similar when descending, care needed by holding onto the stairwell. Alice in wonderland room dimensions come to mind a room of character and interest, we still enjoyed a our stay
