My not so great stay at the Eldorado in Reno

I like that the hotel is connected to circus circus. My kids and I have stayed at all three properties and we would have to rate the Eldorado the worst out of the 3.

We checked into our room and proceeded to get something to eat. After dinner we went to the Midway to play games. My daughter went to take a shower and there was no hot water. At that time I was late. So the only option we were given was to pack up all of our stuff and go down stairs to the front desk and change for another room.in the middle of the night. Super inconvenient! I feel that they should have known that there was no hot water in that room. It didn't seem to surprise the front desk staff when we told them. I felt that it could have been handled better than it was. My family and I have decided to try the Grand Sierra resort next time.

We have always stayed at the Nugget (twice a month) and wanted to try something new. Mistake!

The bed was comfortable. The best part of the organization was the Valet service. Good price and courteous staff.

1-The room was too small 2-No place to sit that was comfortable 3-TV did not carry the Thursday NFL game 4-The entire floor had an overwhelming smell from the Japanese Grill which was not pleasant 5-Left money for housekeeping to receive additional towels that we did not receive. Two wash cloths and hand towels are not efficient. 6-Asked for different pillows, not available 7-Asked to use any rewards points which are not available until you leave 8-$15 fee to obtain room service is ludicrous 9-Lady in charge at the reward desk (blonde) was rude 10-Poor work out room and no indoor pool

Great other than the valet Service

Location, how clean it was. Comfortable beds. Room was quiet despite being downtown Reno.

Parking wasn’t obvious. I had to park illegally to figure out where to park. Did valet do when I called in the morning to get my bags brought down the night shift didn’t pass the information to the day shift and after almost an hour of waiting I called back and no one knew I had called. There needs to be a better process of handling off shift information.

This hotel isn't keeping up with maintenance or staffing the front desk enough. The rooms are old.

There were really loud people next door and by midnight, I had to call and complain. Security was very fast and dealt with them smoothly and efficiently.

Check-in was terrible. The kiosk didn't work for me and made me see an employee. There was only one person working the front desk and a lot of people trying to check in. The entire hotel smells terrible, like that spray they use to try and make things smell good...way too strong and overwhelming. The room had cracks in the counter and tissue box. Most hot water in the shower wouldn't divert up and went down the drain. The parking garage was difficult to use, too many slots are allotted to EV's which aren't even using them. Elevator in parking garage didn't work either and I gave up and used the stairs.

I like that Eldorado was close enough to outside stores that I needed to go to and close proximity to the Amtrak Reno Station.

I think that the property needs alignment itself with modern amenities and needs to modernize. It has this feeling of being stuck in a certain time.

The thermostat was not working properly. I had to call for maintenance to come in on 3 different occasions. At one point the room was at 85 degrees. The front desk was rude when I tried to explain. The floor in the room were uneven and the carpet was filthy. The bed wasn’t comfortable and the pillows were very worn.

Elevators in both the parking garage and the Virginia tower were very slow. Only one elevator was working in both locations, resulting in LONG waits for an elevator. The room decor and furnishings are old and tired, and the rooms need a facelift, especially for the prices guests are paying. Not a good value for the money. Food venues are overpriced. Even the gift shop charged $7 for a bottle of domestic beer - serious price gouging. The casino makes enough money that prices on smaller items like food & beverages shouldn’t be sky-high.

The main issue was the elevators. In arriving one elevator nor working. Secondly, on departure only one elevator either out of four. We were on the 8th floor and vended up taking the stairs with our luggage. A family of four told us they had waiting over 15 minutes. So we opted to take stairs. Unacceptable since it was a hot august night. Minor. Empty Kleenex box on entering room.
