front desk was excellent. Room was comfortable and what we needed. Valet, very accommodating, and had an issue with my fob, and came and found me to ask how it shut off the vehicle.
Bar and grille. Lights were on, but only service set up was to go to the front desk for a menu. and the smell of burnt grille smoked through the room was an allergy trigger, and got our meals later than we'd hoped.

It’s near Smashed Waffles
The room was nice
My key never worked on my door and no one ever gave me another one.
The valet was full and the person was rude about it.
They didn’t do a discount that is on their website and had no explanation to why.

Staff and service were substandard. Not what I expected from Hilton.

Very nice, helpful front desk staff, great location near the University.
Entering the garage to park was confusing. They need better, bigger signage to indicate where to pull in. And perhaps provide info about where the parking is when you book the hotel.

the front desk staff and valet parking staff were very polite and helpful.
the room photos online looked bright and modern. However, the room we stayed in was completely differnt. IT felt like an old room. Even with all the lights on, it was still dark. The shower faucet was an old, fixed, non-retractable one. The bathtub had rust on it. It was a stark contrast to other Hilton hotels I've stayed in other countries.

Very nice room, clean, comfortable, good location. Staff was very helpful and went above and beyond.

The property was very clean and had valet parking. It is very close to the Petersen Event Center (we were there for a concert) and to many local places to eat and explore.

Clean.
Hotel in looks, is outdated, especially for a Hilton. Very annoyed I had to pay $35 in an establishment that I’m staying at.

Location and comfortable
No free breakfast like other Hilton hotels

That it was walking distance to University of Pittsburgh
For the price we have to pay plus parking the hotel should look better. Look at picture I will post.

Convenient
A lot of things are wrong, no toothbrush or toothpaste, paying over $300 a night for not even a toothbrush. Receptionists had an attitude when you tried speak to them.

I liked the room, which was spacious. I also liked the valet parking, which was 7/24, and the staff were nice. The front desk was also very helpful to respond to your needs.
I didn’t like the coffee in the room, where powder creamer was used. So, I got coffee from the lobby in the morning because there was cream.

staff worked with me to adjust my type of room- although it took several phone calls...
above, and pulling into parking ramp to unload often had a big wooden "horse" block -difficulrt to pull in checking into hotel, also if bar was staffed in afternoon our group would of purchased...,

I liked the location in relation to Carnegie Mellon University. Your valet staff were also very accommodating and friendly with getting my vehicle. I did utilize valet a lot on my single day trip and never did they seem to be put-out by the notion of getting my car.
The list is rather long for a Hilton. I expected a much better quality walking into the hotel. I was very let down by a few details. One of which was being stranded on my floor due to an electrical outage. Granted I was only litterally in the dark in the hallway for about a minute it it was still rather distressing. I was just about to touch the elevator down button when the power went out. Had I been stuck in the elevator I would have been very distraught. I decided to take the stairs down from the 6th floor as I did not trust the power grid in the hotel any longer. To my dismay, the staircase led to two options at the ground level. One option was the fire exit, the other was for employees only which led to the parking garage. I wanted to get to my family in the lobby. There was no option for that in that stairwell. I had to walk back upstairs to the second floor and ride the elevator to the lobby.
I was also let down by the number of pillows supplied on the bed. Three pillows were not enough. The ones supplied were overly soft and did not provide any type of support for sleeping. My wife and I had to share the third pillow just to get to sleep.
The final issue I had was the noise level of the air-conditioning in the room. It looked like an older unit and was very noisy the entire time it was on.

Location
A bit worn. Could use upgrade.

the hotel was well located and there were stores such as CVS nearby. Bus stop was also nearby. Hotel was near the University which was important.
Breakfast was not great but ok.
I had to ask more than one person for information about taking a bus and # to downtown that I think everyone at the front desk should have known.

The room was spacious.
The cleaning was decent and done daily as requested (I needed it based on my health condition).
I could leave my luggage at the reception after check-out until leaving to the airport, so I could go to a museum between check-out and the trip to the airport.
The venue where I was attending an event was reachable by feet.
The window view was nice.
I could not change dates for my booking so I had to make two bookings, while they could offer me the same room for the whole stay - what I appreciated.
The appearance of the room was outdated, it was not aesthetically pleasing.
On the day of check-out, cleaning lady was knocking to my door annoyingly.
I did not get any help from the reception on several occasions.
I could not change dates for my booking so I had to make two bookings and possibly over-paid.
The desk was close to be broken.
The curtains were not completely clean.

I had pancakes for breakfast one morning and the staff was helpful and very nice. They provided an extra cup of coffee to go and a container for the rest of my breakfast.
We could hear clicking and doors opening from the rooms near us, so that the first night I kept waiting for our room door to open. One of the bed sheets was stained and the coffee machine wasn't working.
We should have been offered the senior rate ($653) instead of the rate we were charged ($698)
Staff at front desk. One of the young men didn't seem to know his job.

I have stayed in a few different hilton hotels within the last 6 months, and the experiences were awful, but my stay at the garden inn on Forbes Ave restored my faith in hotels! everyone there was very polite and helpful.food was great and so was the ser ice. The location is handy and the inside bar was cool.
Parking was ridiculous at $35 a night

Staff was friendly and helpful
Carpet in room was horrible.
Rocks and large pieces of stuff were on floor of bedroom. Remained there and never cleaned up. Either vacuuming was not done or vacuums did not work. Disappointed about shabbiness of premises. I could not use valet parking because my vehicle was an SUV and garage would not accommodate it.

We liked that there was a restaurant & bar on site.
The box springs of the bed had blood on it. The footstool in the extra room of our suite had soda spilled all over the top and one of our suitcases stuck to it. The bathroom fixtures had spots all over from where a cleaning agent was sprayed but not wiped up. Our Cadillac Escalade would not fit in the “valet only” parking structure so we had to park it OURSELVES in the hotel’s open parking lot, and was still charged $30 for the “valet only” parking that we did ourselves. A compromise could be a half rate $15 for parking in a situation like this.

The location is good for our college visit. The staff is nice and welcoming. The hotel cafe is very good.
The facilities are old. The bathroom cleaning was not great. The air conditioner is a bit noisy.

I stayed here because of its proximity to Trees pool at PITT becacause I was participating in Senior Olympics. This hotel was VERY accommodating to all of us who stayed here, offering discounts on food in the restaurant and maps of how to get to the pool. ( It was a very short and uncomplicated walk up “cardiac hill”) This is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, large bathroom. Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was $16.00. There is a nice restaurant with a limited menu. Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Parking is not free.
The price of breakfast and $30.00 a day to park. There aren’t a lot of places to eat nearby.
