Location, the kitchen and a decent view.
The staff I cannot say enough about them!!
Our unit wasn’t vacuumed and the trash wasn’t emptied but we called and it was resolved in five minutes!!

Very modern and perfectly located.
The furnace vent blows on you while you’re in bed. Definitely makes you wake up completely dry.

The place is fantastic and even had a slight smell of fresh paint. Not all might like that but I loved it.
Not really anything against the property at all but in from rural Pa and the city is just loud at night.

Looks nice but it’s way overpriced.
It’s hard to get in and out of. Even people that live in Pittsburgh didn’t know where we were.

The people working the front desk were very kind and accommodating.
Beyond dirty toilet at check-in/place not clean. After we were offered a room switch (very nice, again staff was accommodating), we were woken up on a Sunday around 8:30 (first night without kids in about a year) with many knocks on our door. Perhaps a do not disturb sign is needed so housekeeping would have know/wouldn't have knocked.

The building was beautiful! We had a whole apartment to ourselves. It was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.
We had to pay for parking.

The building, once found, had incredible architecture and decorated well for Christmas. The unit furniture and decorating was good in the room. The room was clean, however had an underlying fish smell covered by air freshners. Coffee offerings in room were great, they offered laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, dishes. Water was hot, comfortable bed.
Communication is the LARGE underlying problem, both in terms of external signs to find the place, and inside: for example: where is the gym? Outdoor Signage to find the main entrance is non-existent in terms of finding how to get there while driving a car. The GPS will take you to the rear entrance by the Amtrak station, which is littered & confusing. The door was locked with no further signage. A simple LARGE sign with "ENTRANCE" up and around front with directions would be have gone a long way. We then tried to find out how to go around front using GPS and signs, however, RED LETTERED LARGE signs made it quickly look like only buses could enter. There were no PlaceMakr Signs large enough or with directional cues that could be seen from a driver trying to move in city traffic. The halls were dirty, the room was clean, but had an underlying fishy smell covered by air fresheners. Parking lot is set up that if someone had parked in a space behind us, we could not have backed out. I would back-in to a spot only, next time, so you could pull out easier. I have no idea how pick-up trucks parked around us could even get out.

Good location in downtown, comfortable beds and room that’s been nicely renovated. Charming old building.
Kleenex in the room would have been nice and better television viewing options, very limited.

Beautiful architecture, very clean.
We only had a small delay in being able to enter the building. We did arrive very late in the day, which contributed to the problem.

Pleasant check in person. Check out persons very helpful except for I was charged twice for a one night stay in a single room.
The sink drain in the bathroom had no plug that worked. I wear contacts so that was a problem.
The blinds on the center window had no pole to open and close them.

The building itself was gorgeous, and exceeded our expectations. The history in that building was so well preserved. My daughter and I absolutely LOVED exploring the place. The room was perfect.
It smelled kind of like mildew. We didn't make a big deal about it because of the age of the building. Otherwise, it was great, clean and comfortable. However, there could be more bed dressings for the couch bed. There were no additional pillows or blankets, which made sleeping kinda of uncomfortable.

Having a lovely, large apartment for the cost of a mid range hotel room. My sister and I could cook meals in a well stocked kitchen instead of needing to go to restaurants (we'd been traveling for awhile). I loved the small dog park.
The elevators need some cosmetic repairs (the railing on one was broken and the supports still stuck out from the wall). That was the only negative thing we noticed.

It looked beautiful
We couldn't find the entrance at all. The address kept leading to an Amtrak parking lot. If we didn't have a lot of luggage to carry, I think we might have been able to walk to it. If it wasn't late at night (9pm), maybe it would have been easier? Also, never been in Pittsburg before. The signs were confusing and a firetruck block off a part of the road during my 2nd drive around. Gave up. Went elsewhere. Never choosing this place again.
Update the listing to include actual information and clear directions to find the entrance.

The apartment was so nice, the shower was hot and the pressure was decent, everything was clean, having a whole kitchen was great. Keypad access to the building in your room so I didn't have to worry about losing keys. Very short walk to the convention center. Some parking next to the building, and more parking available nearby at the Greyhound station.
Could hear the trains one of the four nights we were there, not sure if the other side of the building would be affected.

The staff was really nice when we checked in and helped us. Find easy overnight parking. Location was really nice too. We were able to walk around downtown, catch a pirates game, and went for a morning around the point.
The entire facility seemed almost abandoned. The windows were so dirty. We could hardly see out of them, and I’m not exaggerating. Also, no coffee pods for the Keurig machine. For $350 a night, it seems like they could’ve thrown in a couple coffee pods. I don’t usually travel with my own!

Beautiful historic building in a perfect location. Close to everything. We loved how secure the building was. And the staff in the lobby were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
An extra blanket would have been helpful.

We always look for unique, historic, and boutique-style hotels and the Placemakr at The Pennsylvanian fit the bill. We spent 6 days touring the city and were delighted. As part of the old Union Station, the building gushes with history; from the grand, domed entrance, to the stunnning lobby, the huge ballroom, and the tall, spacious rooms with huge windows and full kitchen, it was perfect for us. Located across the street from the Westin, we could easily walk to almost everything we wanted to see: the Heinz and Warhol Museums, downtown including Market Square, The Strip, and even the incline. (The only thing we Uber’d was the Carnegie Museums). The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The only thing folks may need to know is that most of the driver’s for apps like Uber or Lyft will drop you off at a side entrance, not the front door. That could be problematic when you first arrive but it was not an issue once we knew that’s where the drivers usually arrive (note: the staff told us that they are trying to change the way drivers arrive, but haven’t been successful yet). If you like historical properties with a great location and a great price, you can’t go wrong. We’ll be back in Pittsburgh in a few months and that’s where we’ll be staying.
Most apps like Uber/Lyft will drop you off at a side entrance, not the front doors, which can be confusing when you first arrive, so you’ll have to walk around to the front to initially get in. It’s not an issue once you’ve checked in and you know that’s where most of the drivers will meet you.

alles Bestens.
