Residence Inn by Marriott Evansville East

This was a great little place to stay! We stayed for one night and the staff was great, everyone was very friendly, even other guests were very cheery! Nice, clean room with lots of ammenities. Not sure, but I think it may have had soft water too? Good breakfast! The thing I liked the most was the surrounding area. Easy to get to off the interstate, but they are on a pretty quiet road with a nice, shaded path to walk around a small lake out front. I saw a playground out of our window, I think that was accessible for guests, but didn't verify. I brought my small dog and the place was super pet-friendly. They had doggy bags by the door and a corresponding waste container outside the door. I'm a local and just used this for a family get-together, but I will definitely recommend it to others and keep it mind for the future.

We liked the location and the comfort and staff.

TV in Living room needs to be replaced, its about to go out. Has lines going down the screen as you are watching TV. Fire place is not working. Needs some updates. Pool was a little on the chilly side and the hot tub was not functioning. The rate was high for these conditions.

The layout of the room

Well for starters I only booked this hotel because it clearly stated you all had a hot tub. I know it doesn’t mean much but as a mom of 3 I was able to get away for the night with my husband we were looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the being in the hot tub. We arrive we get checked in we change into our swimsuits, walk to the pool area and BAM right there with yellow tape wrapped around it was a close sign on the hot tub like WTF!!!! I literally just wanted to get a refund and go to another hotel but obviously im not made of money and had to just soak in the room tub to make it feel like I was in a hot tub :( I cried literally you have no idea how much I was looking forward to staying at a place that had a bombass room layout along with a hot tub but noooo that was not the case. So upsetting. Then the day we were checking out house keeping came knocking on our doom at 8:30 asked my husband if we were about to leave so they could clean, mind you check out is at 12. She wasn’t rude by the way I just want to at least make that part clear. My husband stated no not yet as we had literally just woke up. She asked about what time we would be checking out he told her 12 she says ok and then he shuts the door, we go about our business for a few hours and then I kid you not at 11:43 we get a knock on the door husband answers it is housekeeping again asking if we were still leaving at 12, he said yes she said okay and then shuts the door. Like we said the time and who knocks on someone’s door wondering when they are leaving…this isn’t my first hotel stay I’ve never had housekeeping ask when I would be leaving, especially more than once. Just disappointed we always look forward to getting away and enjoying our stay, and this round was a complete bummer. I hate to be that person but man it really tore me up. May sound bratty but I just really wanted to relax and enjoy the stay.

The road to get directly to property was closed

Our room lacked attention to detail in cleaning. There were hair clippings in the bathroom drawer, and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The bathroom tile grout was filthy. Also, In my mother’s room, the wardrobe mirror was shattered, but still hung to cover the closet. That did not seem safe to me.

Breakfast was great but employees came in and them seem to enjoy then ran out of stuff for guests.

Front desk person night we checked in was rude.

Hot tub not working, main reason I booked the room was for the pool/hot tub 😔. Breakfast was subpar, poor quality and not enough options.

Breakfast was fine and the location was off the highway which was great for my needs. Pet friendly. Very nice and responsive staff-good customer service.

The facility needs capital improvement and operational investment. The shower had mildew in the caulk, the room had a bulky ionizer that couldn’t cover up the musty odor. The room was very outdated. The breakfast area windows had spider webs and insects on the outside. A simple cleaning schedule would have the ground level exterior checked and cleaned on a routine basis. A moldy ceiling tile was located next to the reception area in a very visual location. The side door locking mechanism was loose.
