Front desk staff was wonderful, very friendly and service oriented. Streaming service on tv and comfortable bed. Great location close to airport.
Ancillary charges like $45 parking and no free water ($2.50/very basic brand bottle). Thermostat screen didn't work properly and het was very drying. Called for toothpaste & blanket and she only brought toothpaste, said she'd come back but after a long wait had to call again and when she came back she said she was on break. A few hairs n bathroom floor/shower.

Very old hotel... yellow stained curtains.. everything is yellow.. the hotel carpet is probably 40 years old..
Should not be a 4 star hotel.. this Hilton needs some major updates.. I have the same shower in my apartment... the lamps in the rooms..horrible..

The person checking us in was SO friendly! The pool was very nice.
We read there was a pool bar. Apparently the pool bar is only open for the summer. There were adult guests at the pool laying out and were obvious about not wanting kids at the pool. We felt very unwelcome with our 2 little boys, and the pool and pool bar were one of the main reasons we stayed here.

The staff here is horrendous! We stayed here after a long night at Universal studios horror nights, I was pregnant and very exhausted, and when I came in to check in the old man at the front with a British accent was so demeaning and talked down to me like I was some idiot. I’m not sure if he’s used to dealing with drunk people coming in, but obviously I was pregnant and not drunk so I’m not sure why the horrible attitude. He seemed annoyed that I was checking in so late saying, “ I didn’t think you were going to come” then when he told me about breakfast I asked “oh is it complementary breakfast” to which he laughed. I tried to ask him about parking and he was yelling at me like I just didn’t have the capacity to understand him and kept saying “do you understand?” Like I couldn’t speak english even though I only speak english. It was very belittling and unnecessary to be this rude to customers.
On top of this, desperate to finally get in my room I needed extra pillows since I’m pregnant and I called and asked for some and the said, “why? I don’t think I can send it over but if security is nice enough they can give them to you”. I’ve stayed at many hotels traveling while pregnant and call to get pillows and they always accommodate. Having it seem like it was a big ask and how “if he’s nice enough to get me pillows” is not the way to treat a hotel guest.
To make the whole stay even worse, the Air conditioning did not work at all. My husband and I were so uncomfortable we were sweating all night and had a very hard time sleeping. Very old air conditioning and it’s ridiculous how difficult this hotel made our stay. Not worth it at all. Please stay somewhere else. For this being a Hilton I was so surprised.

Location was perfect
Door battery died and process to get back in my room was dreadful. Front desk staff didn't look into it or seem to care. Originally thought my room key was the issue but turns out it was the battery for the Door lock. Had to wait outside my door for 30min before anyone came.

Was double charged. I asked the front desk manager why I was charge an additional 187.00 on top of the 75.00 deposit. He told me that it was for parking just in case we parked there longer than 1 day, it was essentially another parking deposit. I went back to the front desk the next morning just to double check, because that didn’t seem right. Another lady dug deeper and realized that extra charge and was not a “parking deposit” she didn’t know where it came from. After all I did get my money back a week later, but had I not double checked the next morning I would’ve lost 187.00.

Only thing we didn’t like is the pool was heated way too much it felt like a jacuzzi! Keeping it cool is a great way for people to go cool off in the hot summer

I booked the Hilton because o have Hilton Gold membership and was expecting benefits of that, but because I booked via Booking.com I did not receive the benefits. I feel cheated.

However in the morning we woke up at 7 am with no power. Unfortunately, we couldn't call the front desk. The power did go back on at 8 am. We go downstairs to the breakfast area, and I am excited to eat their great breakfast but I was so disappointed. Everything was lukewarm and stale. I'm not sure the power outage affected the preparation or what. It wasn't good. Then on top of that, I had a 'curt waitress. I'm not a happy camper.

The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
Maneuvering around the hotel grounds was cumbersome. It was a hassle to get to and from your car, requiring two different elevators located on opposite sides of the hotel.

The check on process was simple but I did not have my phone on me at that moment to confirm that breakfast was included in the price I overpaid for the room.
The toilet leaked. The room was not very well lit. There was a mini refrigerator that leaked, but NO Microwave. How is it that such a grand hotel does not have something to heat my food?!

The receptionist assisting me in my check in was not hospitable and welcoming, She needs to be trained on good customer service with pleasant and kind attitude because her work is about hospitality. All receptionists should be well trained on smooth interpersonal skill not being rude because we are customers.

Most rooms seem to have a small balcony with decent views either over either the pool or local neighbourhood. Very nice pool area. Decent hotel bar and pizza oven.

Prior to check in, I called spoke to Carolina, she was very nice and helpful, Good location, Nice Loby, partial covered garage parking, my kids room had pool/city view.
Front reception, Marissa did not provide good customer service (she was not polite at all), the hallway window on the 4th floor was open the entire time, it was raining, very cold, I mentioned to the cleaning lady, said they need to fix it (but they didn't). There was a noise (AC or loud machine sound by our room)

Really nice hotel overall, in fact it's much nicer than the photos in my opinion.
There are lots of amenities and it seemed to be a big hotel for both business travellers and for special family occasions.
If staying in the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area again, I'm going to come here for sure.
I thought parking was too expensive, but this is the case with lots of hotels in California these days.
