Breakfast and location were both good.
The water in the shower was cold during our two day stay. The water was never hot. Very large roach was found crawling on the room wall. Room was dark -poor lighting.

Not much.
Everything. Most everything was broken, the hotel may have been “clean” but did not look appealing. There was a roach in my friends room, our rooms keys kept not working and we had to go to the desk to have them reprogrammed (as did multiple of our friends). We were there booked as a block for a wedding and it was just not worth the amount paid. Many of the rooms smelled like mold, so bad my guests were getting headaches, and most of the staff was friendly and helpful except for one gentleman who was there both of the nights we we stayed. The bed was comfortable and there was great options for television. Those are about the only positives that I have.

Next to Chilis. Sketchy elevator. Comfortable beds and nice size room.
One elevator that seemed to need updating.

Ac was falling apart
7.0 / 10.0
we were able to enjoy our music and drinks out in the pool area along with some other people who were also staying there and no one bothered us. the guy at the desk would walk around but not bother anyone which was pretty nice of him especially with people drinking. it was convenient with all the nearby stores and restaurants as well.
the elevator location and area was very dark and hidden kinda scary to be honest
the ac in our room did not cool at all we had to take off the cover and when we did the coils were super dusty this was at 3am mind you. it would have been nice to have the ac turned on for us or that be an option when booking because when we got there we turned it on because it felt so stuffy so we went straight to the pool when we got in the room was cool but we were also wet. we went to get dinner and were out by 1030ish for my sons tournament the next morning. however tossing and turning through the night and messing with that ac was not part of the plan but we dealt with it. we did mention it to the guy at service desk but he offered nothing no discount nothing. & for the price we paid that was just a big no for our next booking. we could pay a little more for the hampton where some of our other teammates stayed not to mention their pool.

Its close to texas state university
The building is old, outdated and the SMELL when you get in the building. Our room smelled like a damp clothes , moldy smell. Hopefully its not mold but man, i have to use my cologne to cover up the smell. Other than that, beds are comfortable, clean, bedsheets are clean, staff were nice. Just the hotel itself needs an upgrade

There were bugs in my bed and along the night table. I only saw them in the morning when I woke up. I felt a bite/sting on my head, that's what caused me to look. I calmly visited with the front desk staff and she said the manager would meet me at the room. I waited 10 minutes, and he came out of a room down the hall from mine. He came in and saw the 3 insects crawling on the white paper on the end table, waited until they crawled away and said he didn't see them, but insisted they were probably ants. I asked for a refund for the night my family and I slept there and the approaching night. He said he would have to talk to the manager and to call later, I explained that this would be resolved now. He only refunded the night that we hadn't stayed not the night in which I was bitten. He then told some people that we were with that I "cussed him out", and that was the only reason for the refund. That was not a true statement.

No tv channels breakfast was going to be an hour late and very minimal food just cereal and fruit

Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Location was great for our needs.
Back parking lot was decent size and well lit.
Front staff were pleasant.
Awful, awkward placement of single small elevator. Very undersized, and it is almost impossible to pass people entering or exiting without hitting someone, especially with bags. It is quite old and therefore looks dirty. There was an odor in the elevator present our whole stay. It smelled like someone 's backside hadn't been washed in a while.
Walking into the hotel, it smelled damp, musty.
Curtains had broken hooks.
The area of microwave had multiple burns or cracks across surface.
Hair in sink.
The swimming pool is right in front and is not much larger than a hot tub. Poor location.
The front parking lot is awkward, laid out poorly, and difficult to use when checking in or out.
We were only staying one night, and this hotel was adequate for our purpose but definitely did not meet expectations for the price paid.
I could not spend a long weekend here.
Very creative photography for the front hotel view, making it appear more spacious and clean, like a bait and switch.
I paid $223 for one night.
This hotel feels like a $79 per night hotel.

Nothing. It was old, unclean, with mold on the wall. There was water in the floor of the bathroom, when the staff came to check it out, her hand pushed through the wall when she braced herself against it. The commode had urine stains running down the side. The tile was so filthy that our shoes left marks on them.

Staff were very friendly but room was not clean and had an odor. Bathroom drains stopped up a few times. I don't believe the money I paid for was worth it.
Cleanliness of rooms and smell and pool was too cloudy.

The breakfast was adequate.
General conditions of the property were poor. It is in need of a major remodel, or upgrade to meet the standards of the brand.
Our rooms had real problems: paint, caulking in the bathroom.
The carpet in the halls and elevator area were very dirty and in poor condition.
General areas were not great either.
The security was NOT ADEQUATE. The back door to to the back parking lot was never locked as far as I could tell. If it was it was well past 10:00 pm. This a heavy traffic area on the access of Interstate and an intersection of two major busy roads. The parking lots are adjacent and directly accessible to major restaurants. Convenient but NOT SECURE AT ALL.

The ac was in a bad position so only one side of the bed that was up against it go cool.. the rest of the room was hot!

The only thing I liked was the location…but with 2 other hotels at the same location, there are definitely better options
everything! First of all, the lady who checked us in didn’t know how to use a credit card. Secondly, the smell throughout the hotel was awful. It was a combination of stale smoke, smelly feet and a stopped up toilet. Third, when you get off of the elevator onto your floor, there is no a/c…mind you…this is Texas…it was sweltering…and the smell was even more intensified…it was awful! walking into the room, at first I thought…okay…this will be fine…nope…the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in YEARS…and I mean YEARS! the tub was rusty and disgusting…I wouldn’t bathe my dog in that tub…I honestly was nervous about sleeping on those sheets…so I go to put the tv on…doesn’t work…it kept saying”no signal”….so I called the front desk and was told it had been broken all day and the cable company couldn’t come til tomorrow…don’t you think they would have mentioned that when checking in? the charging stations didn’t work either for our devices..I have stayed at Comfort Suites many times…always with good experiences…this place needs to be shut down immediately…I wouldn’t be surprised if they rent rooms by the hour…it’s that bad! there are 2 other hotels located within feet of this hotel…do yourself a favor and stay at one of those…I’ve never written a bad review before…like EVER…but this was so awful…I would hate for anyone else to stay there without being informed

The first time was an amazing stay
The staff was very disorganized, and the room was dirty and the water was cold to take a shower The room smelled really bad. I got charged when I arrived and then the morning when I was leaving they said you haven't paid your card was blocked why now

Staff was nice, bed was comfortable & plenty of hot water for showers
The carpet in our room was Disgusting! Had to wear shoes at all times because the carpet was so dirty your feet would stick to it. There was a horrible sewage-like odor in the hallway of both 2nd & 3rd floors. The spout in bathtub was barely hanging on to the wall

Location to Texas State
Terrible smell in hallways & room, Elevator was tiny & creaky, Shower/ tub had rusty all around edges, bathroom doesn’t have vent to get steam out of bathroom so room stayed damp, breakfast was limited, reception desk unfriendly.

This was a horrible experience! I booked for 3 nights and got “kicked” out because they said I only booked 1 night. they packed up my stuff and did not include a hearing aid charger.

The staff was great. Very nice front desk person and quick and easy check in process.
the air-conditioning did not work. we had a ceiling fan in our room that also did not work. there were dead bugs in the closet and the shower did not drain.

location
Got there no water due to a pipe burst. Staff said it would be on in a hour to hour 1/2. I called at 8pm still no water. When I called the front desk at 10pm no one would answer the phone. I feel that I deserve half of my money back if not all of it. The staff could have provided updates and called me in advance to getting there.

The room had a funny smell and the shower curtain was too short. We had a huge puddle in the floor.
