The location, not too far from the main road. Many villas are further back off the main road and these are roads that only scooters can get to. We had to walk to the villa with our luggage. It is about a minute walk. Close to some nice local walks, including peaceful rice fields with few others, great little local Warungs around but also close to places like Brie restaurant and Warung Bernadette which are two of our faves in Penestenan and which we go to every time we are in Penestenan. Easy to meander through the little village of Penestenan. A 10 minute walk down the hill to the outskirts of Ubud, which we call crazy town. We were in Ubud for independence day and were so glad to escape back to our villa and more peaceful surrounds. The villa itself was a great choice overall, even though it did have some slight shortcomings mentioned below. The pool was refreshing and a great size. Bathtubs were fabulous. Hedo who did the daily housekeeping, and which we did not expect, was lovely to deal with. Beds were firm but comfortable, especially compared to the bed I am currently typing this review from. We would easily stay there again for the pool and location alone. Great place to spend a week and the start our month long holiday in Bali.

No sun lounger mats and as there was no sofa, so it did not provide an environment to relax by the pool, or in the villa. We moved a couple of dining chairs out onto the deck to sit on and used a dining chair cushion on the sun loungers to make them more comfortable. Hopefully owners will provide some lounger pads for the sun loungers for future guests. Water pressure in the shower was weak (but hot water was good).

Property looks exactly like the photos, it was very clean and the owners arranged cleaning everyday, they were very helpful and even helped with laundry. Would recommend to those wanting to be close to the centre but outside enough for some quietness.
