Second time staying here! This time, I had a suite room with a balcony; the room is huge, clean, and the massive corner balcony has great green views. I went to Ubud to cycle, and the slightly out-of-town location was perfect for me to avoid traffic in the mornings and when riding back. However, it’s also close enough to walk to the main area in 5-10 minutes. Breakfast is simple but enough for me and for the price I really can’t complain. Room was cleaned everyday, and the family are very nice people that live here.

This is my third stay at the Homestay and I honestly love it.
The family are lovely. The location away from the craziness of the centre feels like an oasis of tranquility.
Already booked to go back.
Leaving!!

Superb location right in the centre, but very quite. Many restaurants close by, temples and rice fields in walking distance. Owners super friendly and helpful and their whole property feels like you are staying in a temple. Rooms are big with great view. Breakfast was good.
Only thing that we didnt like (reason for 9, not 10) was the heavy air, especially our lower room, but you are in the jungle and it's very hot and humid.

Easily one of the best accommodations near Ubud market, just a 6-7 minute walk to the main market area. Clean room and good breakfast is what you want and Pondok Bambu Homestay doesn't disappoint. Staff is polite and friendly & helpful.
Pro tip: Right opposite the homestay, there is a temple, 'Puseh Temple of Ubud', which offers Kechak fire dance in the evening, do pay a visit.
There's not much to dislike; you get the best service for the price you pay.

Everything was perfect, starting with the room and ending with the breakfast. We also did a tour with the homestay's owner and it was amazing and most of all it was not expensive at all. The staff is polite, fast and always ready for guests needs.

The property is in central Ubud but it’s very very quiet.
Everyday our room was cleaned and we were given new towel.
Great breakfast. Good communication. Easy check out
The shower and toilet combination isn’t too great. I think it would be good to have something to push the water in the drain. Just so that if you want to go to the toilet after a shower you don’t slip

The room smelled extremely loudly and was impossible to stay in. The staff changed to another room but it wasn’t an upgraded one that I initially booked and so it wasn’t nice and also smelly. Not good at all

Lovely homestay in the heart of Ubud but away from the crowds. Made is very helpful and friendly. The accommodation has a back entrance to the rice field trek.

The family we’re so helpful and friendly. We felt like it was a home from home. The location is great, close enough to all that Ubud but far enough to escape the hustle and bustle. It’s very close to the rice walk which we loved! We stayed as a family and had 2 rooms very close to each other. It was really safe for the kids and they loved plunging in the pool after a busy day. The breakfast was lovely and they made a special effort to feed the kids something their liked. We loved the green banana pancakes!

Pros: Perfect location, away from the hustle and bustle of Jalan Raya but a 10-15 minute walk if you need a good restaurant or need to shop. Also close to Kejung Rice Fields which I enjoyed for my morning walks. The homestay is comfortable and the pool is small but deep, could be better maintained but daughter enjoyed using it. We spent 5 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was basic but cleaned every single day. The breakfast was delicious, good fruit selection. The staff are amazing - my daughter left her kindle there and the owner posted it home the next day and it arrived within days. So grateful and one of my favourite stays in Indonesia - thanks so much! Check out Hideout cafe at the bottoms of the stairs, great coffee and food.
The budget double room was good value (£16.50 per night in May 2025) but it would have been better if they had more storage options and a desk, chair and kettle for teas and coffees which I’ve had at other places for this price point. But really nice facilities - I enjoyed working from the restaurant in the mornings and loved the serenity of this place.

Very well located. Close enough to Ubud market and palace for a quick walk to town but far enough to not hear the hustle and bustle when at the accommodation. Best of both worlds really. Surrounded by spas for a lovely massage to end the day. Also en route to the rice paddy walk. Our room was lovely and private with a great view from the spacious balcony.
Lack of utensils in room but not a train smash.

It was exactly as the photos pictured it. The location was perfect, walking distance to Ubud and the local attractions. We also liked the privacy and quietude. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, spacious, lovely gardens, friendly staff, 10min walk to main street/art market
Could do with a few minor additions to make stay more comfortable such as providing soap or handwash, hand towels to dry hands, bath mats so floor isn't wet after showers.
Also please be aware, there was a building close by that played VERY loud music (think bashing pots and pans together over a PA systym) until 11pm on the Tuesday night we were there. After 15hrs travelling we just wanted to sleep quite early but even with earplugs, could not drown out the music and were not able to sleep until it stopped.

It feels like you live in a temple, so beautiful and exceptional to be inside! Excellent location, close to Ubud Palace. For breakfast we had banana pancakes and fruit salad for breakfast - it tasted heavenly!

The room was perfectly clean, we had an amazing view over sunset from the window. The host family is the kindest we've ever met, always available and making use feel at home right away. The location is perfect, as well as the breakfast! If you ever come to Ubud, you should definitely stay there 🌞

Pondok Bambu is a wonderful and beautiful Homestay in a very convenient location. We had two lovely rooms and I was surprised they had aircon and hot water showers since the room price was so low. The breakfast was delicious, the best banana pancakes! We decided to add the airport transfer and also an excursion. I will certainly stay here again whenever in Ubud. We very much enjoyed our four days there.

the family was helpful and the food was good at the back of the property was stairs to a lane turn right and it was a lovely walk through the rice fields a few steps right and there is a market
it is much better to walk through these rice fields then go on a tour
I like that they provide transportation you can also get transport anywhere in the street much better to support local people than the possibility big international companies same with tours arrange with accommodation or on street the big companies monopoly the industry
the bed was hard could do with a fridge

My stay was absolutely amazing. I was so happy there I didn't want it to end. The surrounding is quiet and relaxing, with truly balisian atmosphere and it's very close to very good restaurants, shops and markets. The owner and his family are absolutely remarkable and helpful, very kind people taking care of the guest so much. The contact with the owner is very easy and fast. The food so delicious. Everything clean, the room was cleansed every day. I felt at home and there was not a single things i disliked. I am looking forward to come back.
Thank you for making my stay in Ubud so magical and comfortable I wish all the best for your family

We loved our stay at Pondok bambu homestay! Everything was perfect, the room was big, clean and cosy. The terrasse was a plus. A little space of quiet among the business of Ubud, the location was perfect and allowed us to do everything we wanted by walk. Most of all the owners are very kind, helpful and welcoming! Breakfast is delicious. We can only recommend this place! We would gladly stay there again 🙂

This is an awesome homestay in Ubud. The father-son duo who runs it are kind and helpful in every way, whether you are looking for a local spot or some adventure they will help you plan your day. The rooms are comfortable and sparkling clean and there is daily housekeeping to make sure they stay that way. Don't miss to try the banana pancakes for breakfast, they are the best :)!
Nothing, it was wonderful!

We wholeheartedly enjoyed our stay here. Made and his entire family were welcoming, kind and generous throughout our stay. Made helped us to organize our activities, drove us places for a small fee, served as our guide one day to visit rice terraces and temples. He took great photos. And he even drove us to Munduk after our stay, and they gave us fresh bananas from the garden for the road. Made taught us many things about Balinese life and culture. We really enjoyed watching quite a few of the family members in the dance show that they present twice a week at their temple across the street.
The accommodations were just right. The room and bathroom are spacious and tidied every day. We had delicious banana pancakes and fruit salad almost every day. The omelette was tasty as well. And it was served on our porch overlooking the pool surrounded by so many lovely plants , flowers and trees.
It is a calm and peaceful location, but very close to the city center, about a 10 minute walk. There is a quicker back route which takes you on a nice stroll through some rice fields. The stairs were a bit slippery though and there is no handrail. There is a good sized market just nearby.
We would most definitely return to Pondok Bambu!!
