112 Micklegate - Apartment 1

Other than too soft a bed, it was excellent. We enjoyed the space and it was near to York's historic centre and most of the site we wished to visit.

The only problem with the location was that it was near pubs and other nightlife sites. Nights were not quiet and, given the heat, we wanted to leave the windows open! Otherwise the location was excellent, near the city centre. Instructions on what to do with our recycling were contradictory. The last day I was able to give my recycling to someone working for St Nick's York, who suggested the owners of the flat should be in contact with them!

Nicely furnished, comfortable apartment.

Large rooms with windows overlooking street, letting in natural light. Apartment very quirky and full of character with original features.

Upstairs bathroom tiny but we knew that before booking. Has another toilet down stairs

Fab location, 5 mins from train station and very central. Kitchen was nice although again very small. Old wooden beams on show were pretty and the traditional features were nice.

Place was freezing and heating was poor. Sofa bed was super uncomfy 😩 and right next to a draughty window. Stairs were tiny , winding and awkward, impossible to carry a case up to the bedroom. Bathroom is beyond tiny, you can only shut the bathroom door and the shower door behind you if your slimmer than size 12. Wasn’t really suitable for 4 of us. Wasn’t the cleanest, dark black long hair everywhere, dressing gowns for show were marked with red food stains possibly? Lovely poo in the downstairs toilet on our arrival, sofa bed was covered in all sorts and had to hoover it before we slept in it. Too much clutter to feel cosy just constantly moving tables to pull out sofa bed and left very little room to move. Disssappointing stay overall.
