A stay in a ryokan is an event by itself. The service and food is exquisite. The onsen is very nice.

Easy to navigate to from the train station. Beautiful room and a view of the water from our window. We loved our dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff who went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We felt very well looked after, like we were being welcomed into a home. The room was so beautiful and looked fsr better than any of the images online (id recommend they upgrade their photos). The food was delicious and they made an effort to accommodate my unusual dietary restrictions which was appreciated. We ate off really beautiful tableware including an antique serving tray that was 150 years old. Very authentic experience. The ryokan is well located next to the train station and we had beautiful.views of the river out our window.

One of the two public onsens was a bit small compared to the other (each onsen is allocated to each gender). Not a huge issue, just something to note. The wood on the onsen in our bedroom was getting a bit old and may need to be upgraded.

Perfectly located within walking distance of Hakone Station and close to a variety of great restaurants, this hotel was an ideal base for our trip. I stayed for two days with my family, and we truly enjoyed our relaxing mountainside escape. The hot springs were absolutely stunning, easily some of the most beautiful I’ve experienced, and having access to them every day made the stay feel extra special. What stood out most was the staff. They were incredibly caring and attentive, offering helpful support both before and throughout our stay, which made everything feel seamless and welcoming.

A few aspects of the stay didn’t quite meet expectations. The private tub in our suite was quite small and not very inviting, especially compared to the beautiful public onsen. In hindsight, I wouldn’t splurge on this extra amenity again. The bathroom also had a noticeable odor, which was a bit off-putting. Additionally, sleeping on the padded floor mattresses was a unique and traditional experience, but slightly uncomfortable for us.
