The owners were very friendly and warm upon arrival, the room was a perfect size for the four of us, bathroom and bedroom was very clean. Perfect for an overnight stay and very cheap too

It could be better, but it could be worse. It's a shared house, so don't expect much for low price.

I was scared by the reviews, but it wasn't that bad. It's simply a place to stay in a house that needs some refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised by the Wi-Fi access, which wasn't mentioned in the listing, and the friendly hosts who took an interest in their guests.

The quality of the house, although the hosts certainly tried to make it clean enough.

Slightly grimy, otherwise as expected.

The property was cheap and simple, which was expected.

Upon arrival at approximately 11 a.m., I was greeted by a staff member. Although my early check-in had been approved, my room was not yet ready. I was offered the option to store my luggage in the shared living room, though I found this arrangement somewhat uncomfortable. In the room itself, we noticed mold in one corner of the bedroom. Aside from this concern, the accommodations were generally as expected. The most significant issue occurred on the second night when I attempted to do laundry around 10 p.m. I discovered that the washing machine was already in use, which at first did not seem problematic. However, when I went to transfer the load to the dryer, I found the washer filled with what appeared to be linens for roughly 10 beds, including sheets and pillowcases. Given the very small size of the machine, I cannot imagine such a large load being cleaned effectively. It also appeared that the laundry was not intended to be moved to the dryer until the following day.

Disgusting bag hole

How quickly I could post the key and leave

All I can say is I'm glad my dog is fully vaccinated but I did have to flea my dog once I left. Couldn't stay had to leave full of someone else's dirty clothes mould everywhere was a damp dirty crap hole and not safe to stay in I will be taking this further I had to leave and book another hotel around the corner 15 pounds more but safe for my dog absolute pig pit smelled of arm pit sweat and don't even get ne started on the toilet or bucket whatever you want to call it this place is an unsafe mess should be removed off booking.com complete trash hole I'd recommend you use your money to pick up dog crap will come to better use

Absolute flea pit, smelly, itchy, filthy and disgusting There’s nicer slums

Why on earth is this even available to book to stay in ?? It’s a health hazard and endless faults and filth From wires poking out of bathroom ceiling, curtains that are held together with cobwebs and dust that don’t even fit, to broken windows, holes in walls, never ending noises, revolting carpets and smelly bedding, not to mention a beautiful arrangement of skid marks in the toilet to greet us on arrival !!! Just wowsers !!!!!

It was very cheap, area was nice and quiet and close to the location we wanted to be at (Murrayfield). Bedding and room and shared bathroom were clean.

There were still people clothes in the rooms we were staying in. Not clothes that had been left by previous guests but a wardrobe full of I’m assuming the owners clothes.

Friendly Host, but Space Needs Better Cleaning and Maintenance

The host was friendly.

The space could benefit from more thorough cleaning and organization. The bedroom had many personal items and clothing from the owners, which made it feel a bit cluttered. The curtains were damaged and difficult to close fully, which affected privacy. Additionally, the microwave was not clean, and the refrigerator contained spoiled food, which made it unusable. Unfortunately, instead of feeling relaxed, the overall environment felt a bit uncomfortable. With some attention to cleanliness and a tidier setup, the place has potential to offer a much more welcoming experience.

The carpets and paint-work appear to be from the 1980's or maybe 1990's. The place was perhaps ok for a personal home, but for a place of business, it seemed far too rundown. My impression, was that a very large house was adapted to have rooms for renting. As a place of business, I wonder if any government inspections are required. The bathroom / shower was in good shape, BUT all guests must share the one bathroom. It appeared to have 3 or 4 bedrooms, each with up to three beds. If the place had been full (9+ guests), we wonder if we could have gotten time for us to shower. There was only a small window for the bedroom. No AC, although a constantly-running dehumidifier kept the moisture to a good level; however, 24/25 C° was warmer than I wanted. Since we felt dissatisfied, we booked at a chain hotel for our 2nd night instead of staying at Silverknowes. The "security" for the private room was a lock with a combination code. I am perhaps spoiled, but I like having either a physical key or an electronic key-card.

The cheapest I could find in Edinburgh and okay for a night

To be honest there were just two things we liked about staying here - how kind Robert was as the host, and how close the house was to walk to a bus that went straight into the city.

I just have to be honest here as I think it's important. Both the sofa bed and main bed in our room in particular were horribly lumpy and uncomfortable. In went to lie down and there was something poking me in the side, and it was a lighter that was left under the sheet. I mentioned it to Robert that it may have fallen out of his pocket when he made the bed, which is an honest mistake but also not super great. The bedroom itself was spacious enough but the curtains were not great, as they didn't cover the entire window. There was wardrobes and piles of stuff obviously belonging in the room all hidden behind another curtain - it just didn't feel exceptionally great for what we paid for it. The bathroom was okay, there was no hand towel so I had to find one myself, and for there to only be one bathroom for over 5/6+ people? Not great either. At midnight, there were two girls jumping around and talking loudly in the room above us. I messaged Robert to ask if there was a curfew, but ended up asking them to quieten down by knocking on their door. I told Robert in the morning and he kind of laughed it off saying it was their last night? So what? We're paying guests, and there was no indication it would be acceptable for it to be like a uni house?

We had a great time staying here, everyone was friendly and helpful. It was just what we needed for the weekend, a clean room with comfy beds and a lovely bathroom. Location wise it was exactly where we needed to be, a nice quiet street, not too far to the Zoo and other fun places to go. Shops within walking distance. Will be booking here again next time we are in Edinburgh!

Es difícil sacar algo positivo. La parada de bus no está muy lejos pero se tarda más de 30 minutos al centro

Es una casa familiar que no está equipada para ser un alojamiento turístico medianamente aceptable. Es vergonzoso que esta casa esté así. Tiene ropa, fotos y objetos de la familia que vivió o vive allí. Las sábanas son viejas, las camas incómodas y las habitaciones pequeñas. El baño está parcialmente reformado pero sigue en mal estado. Nos dijeron que podíamos ir antes a dejar las maletas y cuando llegamos no podíamos entrar a la casa y nadie respondía el teléfono. Otros huéspedes nos dijeron que la casa estaba llena y que debía ser un error. Estuvimos más de una hora en la puerta, hablando con Booking e intentando entender que pasaba. Al final apareció una persona y sin más explicaciones nos metió en una habitación sin limpiar.

Festival zamanı bulabildiğimiz en uygun yerdi. Konumu gayet iyi, 5-6 dk’lık yürüme mesafesinde otobüs durakları var ve merkeze gidebileceğiniz birçok otobüs mevcut. Mahalle çok güzeldi hatta sahile de Silverknowes sahilinde bile vakit geçirdik.

Sanırım tek olumsuz yan tek bir banyı ve tuvalet olması. Zaman zaman tuvalet sırası beklemeniz gerekebilir. Ama biz bunu 6 günde 3 kere falan yaşadık.

Personnel gentil. Pas loin d'un arrêt de bus pour aller au centre. J'ai garé la voiture et tout en bus. Frigo et cuisine à disposition mais dans un état déplorable.

Sale. Vétusté. Très bruyant Tout est à refaire. Salle de bain et WC partagésmais pas séparés donc pour aller aux toilettes obligé d'attendre très longtemps. Pas d'isolation. Pas de volets au fenêtres ni de rideaux isolants du jour. Les portes sont verrouillées par un cadenas à chiffre. Je ne comprends pas les notes sur booking.

Der Innkeeper war spitze! Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt, da Louis sehr persönlich war. Wir konnten uns super über alles Mögliche unterhalten und haben sogar sehr viele Tipps für unsere weitere Reise bekommen. Auch dass wir schon vor der regulären Check-in Zeit kommen durften, war eine große Hilfe.
