Good overall..

Nice, clean and comfy well equipped with all essentials. Staff was good, although there was some communication gap but they still managed to make us comfortable and got the room ready in advance. Good connectivity to city centre

Misleading people, stealing customers money

Takes payments from bank accounts and then subsequently refuses guests entry to the property, after paying saying it's fully booked. Left us stranded in Edinburgh, with nowhere to go after taking the payment over £100 per night.

Decent for a night

- Location was peaceful and there were some bus stops near by. (Also nr 17 going to the airport!) - I liked the printed out sheet about snacks and their rates + wifi info. - Once I did manage to liaise with the owner via WhatsApp, the misunderstanding re arrival-time was quickly solved from their part, which was nice. - Tiny kettle in the room with mugs - Mints on the bed was a nice touch :) - There were some boardgames in the room - Bedside lamps were great for winding down

- I had to chase the owner via WhatsApp, since I wasn't responded to for two weeks via Booking. Had to chase also the night before, to be reassured that we could get into the room. Would expect better for a paid service. Not to mention that having to speak on the phone to get instructions about how to get in might be really challenging to someone who wouldn't be fluent in English. Written instructions are always better. - Not sure if the smell of incense sticks came from the religious altar in the corridor or from someone's room, but it was definitely noticeable and strong especially when first entering the house. - There were barely any snacks in the room to buy. - Tellie didn't work. Perhaps just remote needed new batteries? Ended up using my own laptop and HDMI cable with sound coming from laptop rather than tellie, since tv sound quality was bad too. - Window was a bit sketchy with the wobbly handle and lock. Hard to close. - Bathroom had lots of personal items, especially on the counter. Would've appreciated more space. - This small "sofa" was really uncomfortable. You could feel every part of the frame and there was nowhere to put your legs up. Perhaps an ottoman or footstool would help?

Bed was great, bathroom was large, friendly owners

Noise from the main road, room was very warm without a fan. 26 stairs up to my room was tough on a 77 yr old. Not enough plug outlets to charge phones and hearing aid. And the lighting in the bathroom for shaving was poor

Getting there

Pleasant host Comfy bed Odd selection of breakfast foods for self preparation

The room is on the top floor at roof level up lots of steps. Not suitable for those of limited mobility. I have left recommendations for improvement in the visitors book in the room. Bit of a list. Location not ideal for visiting the city. But this is reflected in the cost compared to city rooms. Owners' kitchen is on ground floor, so odours rise right through the building up the stairs well.

Host did not available when we arrived as promised-did not answer our phone calls. Therefore, we waited outside for a while to get in. The answer host gave not satisfactory. Inconvenient location, no restaurants around. But there is a bus to the city in front of the house. No house keeping for all 3 days we stayed. Difficult to open/close the front door, no lock on the room door. Steep stairs to the room-hard for going up and down. Breakfast is below average.

Bed and room were comfortable. Good bus routes to Edinburgh City centre.

Inability to find tea and coffee and coffee on arrival, Was not mentioned on information sheet on fridge but price list of snacks and wines was prominent. Microwave located on bottom shelf of cupboard and difficult to use without kneeling on the floor. Absence of washing up bowl,meaning China crockery had to be washed in a china sink.

Our night at MY ROOM ....

Host was very friendly and helpful, room was very spacious and clean, only a bus ride into the center of Edinburgh, and all the attractions the city has to offer Large bathroom with all toiletries provided, good shower Value for money especially seeing as it was fringe season and the Tattoo was on in town.... Great price compared to the extortionate prices the hotels in the center were charging

Friendly, OK location for the office.

I thought it was a hotel from the description. Breakfast was included, but it was cereal to be had in the room (no table) and there was no milk in the fridge. I am sure it said something about a restaurant.

Good

The warm welcome by Mani, the owner who helped us carry our heavy baggage up 2 flights of stairs. The room was bright and looked out onto the tree lined street. The breakfast supplies were just adequate and fine for 1-2 nights stay.

Although we had a choice of 2 buses almost at the doorstep, it takes time, waiting for the bus and then to get into town. We suggest My Room have more information on the bus timetable options.

Very welcoming host

Very clean and cozy room with spacious and clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Very friendly and welcoming host - let us check in before the check in time as our plane war early and kept our bags in storage until late next day as our departure was in the evening. Bus stop in front of the building - takes you directly to the center of the town and to the airport for 2 and 5 pounds respectively - runs very often and during the night.

Nothing to complain about - everything was as expected from an Air BnB.

unfortunately we arrived to what is just someone’s house in which they rent a room out, there is no internal lock on the room and we did not feel like we could relax and enjoy our trip without this privacy. We did not stay and had to book another hotel for our stay and are now £175 out of pocket as booking.com will not refund our stay.

Great location for access to central Edinburgh

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is situated on a direct bus route into Edinburgh with on street parking out the front. There was plenty of food for a continental breakfast. When the hosts realised I didn't eat cereal they provided me with additional fruit. We ordered takeaway Indian from the menu in the room, very tasty and delivered to our room!

The room needs a table and chairs, there's nowhere to make tea and coffee except the windowsill. The orientation of the room doesn't work well if you want to watch TV. It needs a toaster and a full set of cutlery, a sharp knife and cutting board.

Room for improvement!

The owners were very gentle and attentive! Easy access to public transport. Large room and bathroom. Quiet.

No public tv channels. You need to have a streaming account to be able to use it. No breakfast, only coffee, tea and cereal available. The rest you had to buy. Room on third floor in a family residence. I sugest a table and microwave in the room and the change of the mattress (it sags on the right side). The address does not show on taxi and uber apps so you have to walk to meet the driver. The services advertised on Booking.com where not all available.

The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large enough, and the owner is very polite and responsive, The check in was very quick and easy(no contact), you can find everything you need in the room:)

Not many, the door doesn't have a lock, the breakfast is very basic (literally coffee, tea and biscuits) , and the room was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator(for those who have limited mobility)

The room is very clean and well equipped. There are some simple breakfast options which are very convenient. The hosts are very friendly and go above and beyond. The location is also nice with plenty of nearby bus stops that go straight to the city and the airport. The area felt safe even after dark.

While there are plenty of bus stops, the buses in Edinburgh are horrible (which is obviously not the fault of the owner), so trips take longer than expected. Nothing the owner can fix, just be aware and budget with some extra time!
