Our stay was truly exceptional and exceeded all expectations. We were kindly upgraded to a suite which made our stay extra special. The space was generous with enough closet storage and a beautifully designed living room area that we all enjoyed in the evenings, it quickly became our movie night spot and kept our little one happily busy. The room was incredibly well thought out down to the smallest details. From the floor heating in the bathroom to the perfectly balanced lighting and seamless technology, everything felt intuitive, modern, and luxurious. You can truly feel the level of care that went into the design. Including the goodie bags with nappies, lotion, slippers and robe for my toddler. The hotel’s location is perfect. Baden-Baden is absolutely magical at this time of year. We’ve visited several major cities during the festive season, but the Christmas decorations here are on another level, elegant, charming, and unforgettable. Staying in a beautiful hotel right in the heart of it all made the experience even more special. Breakfast was exceptional with an impressive selection and even oysters. The service was excellent, the staff were helpful and genuinely welcoming. As a detail lover, I was delighted to see fine bone china Villeroy & Boch dining sets which perfectly reflect the hotel’s high standards. I truly wish I had planned to stay longer here but I will definitely return! Do not hesitate to book, the price point for a stay of this standard is unbeatable.

Gorgeous hotel, the design is cohesive throughout, lovely art, comfortable and beautiful at the same time. So many thoughtful touches everywhere you look. Well located, staff is super friendly and professional at the same time. The spa is wonderful, drinks in the lobby bar perfection. Towels were huge and soft. Robes super soft and comfy. Ok the only thing I can fault is the pillow cases were not soft..oddly scratchy but that’s really sounding spoiled now isn’t it?

I've stayed at many Steigenberger hotels, and it's hard to believe that this one is a part of the chain. The decor was dated, not by historic standards, but just by those of freshness and convenience. Instead of air conditioning, there was a 5 foot pedestal floor fan, which didn't provide any comfort on the hot day we arrived. The TV in the room was a 1980's, 15 inch model, placed so that there was no comfortable place to view it from. The key to the door was one of those old types which you have to turn several times in order to open or lock the door. There was no pool -- just the same certificate all the hotels give for a discount at the Caracalla Baths. I was so disappointed that we left the afternoon we arrived, and booked two rooms at a more modern hotel near the casino that was actually lower in price and had air conditioning. When I explained to the manager that I realized that there was a no-refund policy and that we would at least return every morning for the what would be the most expensive breakfasts of our lives, he acted as if I was asking for a refund. I heard other guests complain about the paid parking and expectation of a pool.

My wife comes to frankfurt each year on business. We make a point of coming to baden baden beforehand to unwind after the flight from the US, and we always stay at the steigenberger. We get great service and especially love coming down in the morning to have breakfast in style. This has now become an annual event.

A hotel with real character and the elegance of earlier times. It felt as if I had strayed into the 1950s in the best possible ways. Very reasonably priced for what was on offer, the room was enormous. The location could hardly be better and the view charming and interesting.

This hotel is not as upper cut as it thinks it is - the décor is often tired (fraying carpets, scuffed skirting boards, chandeliers with pieces missing) and dated (for example, the TV in our room was tiny, especially considering the size of the room, and was an old fashioned one, rather than a flatscreen). In addition, it didn't have aircon, which was really disappointing. We had a special rate but I still don't think it was worth what we paid. Excellent breakfast and good wifi though.

Couldn't fault the attention of all the staff to making our stay very comfortable. Great to enjoy the style of a grand hotel. The position in the town is unbeatable both to explore on foot or get away by car to surrounding countryside. As English in a foreign country, we struggled to find our way back to the hotel by car from the far side of town despite (or in spite of) the 'assistance' of sat nav!

This hotel is badly in need of updating the rooms and general maintenance. The rooms are clean but the furniture is dated and damaged. I counted no less than four broken and shattered tiles in our bathroom. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. Overall not worth the money, but the location is great.

Shteigenberger hotel group should do renovation ASAP! Hotel is very tired, rooms are old, furniture is old.. OLD and not antique. It has nothing to do with 5 stars standards. Blast from 80's. If you could see the TV-set, model is back in the end of 80's. You see many antique paintings in the corridors and stairs as well as furniture, so one could imagine the glorious times this property had in the past. Present is quite sad full of ugly old not antique things: elevators, room amenities, beds, furniture. RENOVATION NEEDED BIG TIME

Stayed here for the second week running on business. Lovely hotel. Yummy breakfast with a huge selection. The gym is small but has everything you would need. Lovely small pool (not long enough to do lengths) - but nice for cooling off in this hot weather, and also sauna area is lovely too. Brilliant location. Lots of parking nearby if you didn't want to use the hotel parking. Great that reception is open 24 hours, especially if you are getting an early flight out from Baden Baden Airpark.

We spent just one night in Baden-Baden. We were met at the door of the hotel and our car was valet-parked and our bags taken to our room immediately. The room was nice, but not spectacular. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel kindly allowed our bags and our car to stay at the hotel after we checked out while we spent the morning at the spa. The service by all hotel employees was excellent.

Large, comfortable rooms, and beds. High ceiling and spacious bathroom too. Excellent breakfast, with a large selection of meats, cheeses, fruits etc. Warm,helpful staff. Only drawbacks were no air conditioning.poor internet accessibilty and a feeling that the hotel is due for some rennovating (carpets were a bit worn out,small t.v.,).

I am sad to say that the hotel is resting very much on its former glories and now looks more like something from the "Shining" with long empty coridors. The rooms are very basic and certainly not 5 star. The saving grace is probably the central location and the staff who were all very helpful. It's certainly not cheap, I paid 10.00 euro for two cups of room service tea, plus 4.00 euro "tray charge" ! There are lots of other hotels to chose from in the centre so look around.

I scored this hotel "4" not "5". Because I did not stay any other hotel in Baden. I think that I don't have any chance in the next time, either. The location, breakfast, room, sauna was very good. You don't have to hesitate. But it was a little bit expensive.

Booked on travel website back in April, canceled at end of June. Assumed this would be enough time not to incur a cancellation fee. Just got credit card statement, and was billed by hotel on 7/19 for full amount. Went back and read cancellation policy: CANCEL BY 1AM 18JUL07 LOCAL PROPERTY TIME TO AVOID PENALTIES Room Rate says: STANDARD ROOM/DOUBLE BED/26 SQM/WIFI CITY VIEW 15 PERCENT OFF - NO REFUND - NO CANCELLATION <----- FULL DEPOSIT REQUIRED AT TIME OF BOOKING So if you want "normal" cancellation policies, don't book at the lowest rate. No fault on the hotel. I am sure it is a wonderful place.

This nicely located hotel gives you all you expect at Baden-Baden; large relaxing room, on-site spa and friendly staff. The interior is impressive and this should be what we call a 5-star hotel. It would have been more impressive if we had had a large flat-screen TV, rather than an old small TV which we could not see well from the bed.
