Safira Suites 101

I was initially a little hesitant about booking because the property didn’t have many reviews, although the ones available were very positive. I needn’t have worried! I don’t normally write reviews, but this is genuinely one of the best properties I’ve stayed in while travelling. Everything was exceptional, from the location right in the heart of the Old Town to the quality and comfort of the apartment. Despite being so centrally located, the soundproofing was excellent, and I had a great night’s sleep throughout my stay. The suite was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and appeared almost brand-new, with a generous bedroom area, a lovely kitchen and a great bathroom. The welcome was a particularly nice touch. I arrived earlier than the check-in time and enquired about leaving my luggage, but the host kindly offered me an early check-in instead. On arrival, I was greeted with a lovely welcome card and thoughtful gifts, including Madeira cake, wine, water and snacks. These little touches really made a difference. I was staying for 10 days, so I particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the washing facilities, both of which were excellent. I was on the first floor, facing the ocean, so the view was somewhat limited, but the multiple windows, each with its own small balcony, were still a lovely feature. The apartment was also very good value for money. I’ll be using this stay as the benchmark against which I compare future accommodation, and if I return to Funchal, I will be staying here. Highly recommended!

Super nice appartement in the center of the city near the ocean, bars, breakfast capabilities and restaurants. Ideal location for visiting Madeira.

Nothing, absolute place to be.

Everything. Clean, big, comfortable room. We found a lot of snacks in the room nu also a bottle of wine. Excelent location on the street with the painted doors, closet to the fish and vegetale market. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Everything was perfect
