Genuinely incredible location Amazing food Fantastic hospitality

OK SO HEAR ME OUT. This was an exceptionnal stay. The family running the place (mostly brothers) is soooooo kind. The food was delicious and of course homemade. I am vegetarian and they were very careful and attentive, so that every meal I had meat-free food (and they remembered while serving it everyday!). You wake up in the middle of the mountains, at the foot of a few hikes you can do. It's calm, peaceful, revitalizing and beautiful - to say the least. You just know that the family is doing all it's best so you have an amazing stay, they really put their hearts out. I had been traveling in Albania for almost 3 weeks and this place was hands down one of my favourite. I would absolutely come back here if I was to visit Valbonë again. What you should know : It's pretty up high in the mountains. You have to walk ~2km up a hill to get there. It's quite far from the center of Valbonë. You will have to walk if you want to explore. And if you're doing the Valbonë to Theth hike, the beggining of the trail is quite far (you can ask to get a car ride to the beginning of the trail though - again, so nice). You will have to pay cash (LEK or €). Make sure to bring enough money for your stay and the food and drinks there. Breakfast is included, but the dinner is 10€ (which is so cheap considering the amount of food you'll eat).

The family is sooo good and kind. Madam makes amazing food. I stayed 1 night having my own room, shower and toilet have very good water pressure. It’s close to mountain and a bit distance from main road if you walk from Theth town to Valbone. Generally it’s 10 out of 10!

Be warned, it’s a 2.1klm uphill from the main road. Woken up at night by scratching noises in the roof. A long way to the Valbona-Theth hike trailhead.
