Shpella Guesthouse Theth

Beautiful location with charming outdoor area for eating and relaxing.

Great place to stay in Theth if you want a quieter end of the “village”. It’s near the start of the waterfall & blue eye trek which is why we picked it. It has a lovely outdoor area with tables and chairs, a hammock, amazing views of the mountains, chickens and cows around and about 😊. The restaurant food is very good, staff were really lovely. We had a triple room with a double bed & single bed. The room was traditional, complete with wonky wooden floors and cosy bedding (it was cooler at night) with amazing views. Bathroom was weirdly ultra modern.

The breakfast could have been better, there was hardly any bread most mornings and it could have been fresher plus 2 mornings there was literally no fruit left. There was juice but it wasn’t cold. There were lovely boiled eggs, little pancakes etc and some cereal but again milk wasn’t cold. Just tiny things really but didn’t spoil an overall amazing stay! Other places we stayed had much better breakfast but easily improved.

Staff were super helpful and attentive, truly felt like a part of the community during our stay. Beautiful area and the facilities were amazing, the food was amazing the best we had in the area.

Lunch was excellent. The common area was lovely. Staff was very kind.

The rooms have no AC and our windows face a stair that was very noisy. People could look into the room and if we closed the windows we couldn’t breathe. Good to know that it is 25 min walk from the start of Theth if you are doing the hike from Valbonë. So a bit of a walk. Breakfast could be better.
