Luxury Mews in the heart of New Town

Excellent communication with owner, very clean and attractive. Good location. Loved the electric fire, a nice touch to come back to.

The pictures do not do this listing justice. It is so much bigger than it looks in Photos!!! when I first arrived at the property I thought I might have somehow got it wrong or maybe it was connected to a private spa as I genuinely had the feeling I was entering into a private spa, the host had set light smooth radio at a very low level. The lights were on, but very dim there was a beautiful, soft natural smell from oils which normally I don’t like, but it was just so perfectly done. Apart from that, every item in the apartment has been carefully selected and placed. It is so thoughtful. It has a full on five star luxury experience. And again much bigger than the photos look, I was worried it would be a bit small but it was fire exceeding my expectations on size!

There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property. I will say that those huge big windows are so lovely but it’s not very private because you’re facing onto other windows and there was a little bit of construction so people could look in. It would be amazing if there was two way glass so you could have them open and feel like your privacy was secure But this is such an added exceptional extra that in a dream situation if that cost nothing I would say that’s a great idea to do😂

I have been to Edinburgh on a previous occasion and travel extensively, staying in anything from beautiful hotels to beautiful Air BnBs…so feel very comfortable in providing my comments that might help others. The Wee Mews is extremely clean, bright, and well equipped. It is located in New Town and its proximity for walking is excellent. In fact, my adult daughter and I walked with our luggage from the train station to the Wee Mews (we are athletic lol) - and it is approximately 1km from the train station. A very safe and doable walk. The Kitchen was lovely and we found thoughtful treats when we arrived. There were spices, coffee, milk - all the nice things upon arrival. Towels are beautiful and bedding gorgeous. The bed is a full bed - meaning a Canadian/US DOUBLE - not a queen. This was disclosed on the listing, but just another bit of a reminder. My daughter and I are both still sleepers so it was not an issue for us - and truly had a very comfortable sleep for the time we were there. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The hallway leading up the stairs is quite narrow (as would be expected in a mews), and the bathroom is on the way up to the main suite (between the entry and the main level) - so if one has mobility issues, this will be a concern. The bathroom is well appointed and superbly clean - the shower is within the tub - the tub floor can be a bit slippery when wet. There is a washing machine on site (in the kitchen) which is awesome, however, it is not a washer/dyrer combo unit (I lived in the UK for three years, so this is not a surprise), but as travellers, it is convenient to have a washer/dryer combo unit for ease of drying clothes (we had this in London prior to our Edinburgh visit). There is a drying rack provided. The Wee Mews is very bright as there are a lot of windows, and sloped ceilings and thoughtful decor make it warm and welcoming. Our host was very communicative and helpful. Instructions excellent!

There was nothing that we didn’t like per se, it was very comfortable. I think it would be helpful to have an anti slip Mat in the bathroom for entry into the tub, and perhaps disclosure as to the bathroom location for those that might have mobility challenges (knee or hip issues), as this could be a challenge for some if one expects everything to be on one floor.

The Wee Mews is perfectly located in Newtown within easy walking distance of parks and gardens and restaurants. It has all the comforts of home.

Nothing to complain about.
