JOIVY Converted Flat in Historic Building in New Town

Ahhh we LOVED staying at this airbnb! It was exactly like in its pictures. We adored the great big windows and perfectly utilized kitchen like you can find anything you need and MORE. Great location and very nice neighborhood. The owner was kind and helpful.

Our stay was during January and it was a bit cold in the house I must admit. The heaters work but the controller was bit confusing but overall it wasn't that bad. Also be aware that if you staying with 4 people, you must pay extra bedsheets!!

Gorgeous place which felt homely and comfortable. The team were very responsive when we had queries. Loved the location as it was close to great spots in New Town but felt peaceful. The walk to the old town was easy and enjoyable. It was also easy to get a taxi from the apartment when we needed one.

The lockbox wouldn’t lock on check out which was a bit stressful as we had to leave for our train. This is nobodies fault and it looked as though the mechanism had gotten stuck somehow. The team were responsive when we let them know about this. It was a little cold in the apartment at times and a few extra blankets/throws would have been good to have had.

The location was excellent!

Our family was in town to celebrate a graduation, and the location was fantastic. However, we booked this particular property so that we would have space for our family and a kitchen to do some cooking and relax over the weekend just enjoying being together. We had to sort through the pans that would work on the stove in the kitchen, because not all of them work on that type of stove. The wifi did not work in the living room nor did the tv so we just used our computers if we wanted to watch anything over the weekend. The shower temperature was difficult to manage, so we were always trying to get it sorted. You just didn't know if it was going to get really hot or really cold so you made your shower a quick one. The flat could have used a thorough cleaning, but it wasn't bad. I didn't like that we had to buy bedding as an extra charge to fit the murphy bed in the living room, I thought the fee was a bit excessive for pillow/sheet rental. I considered buying a set just because it wouldn't have been that much more, but opted to rent out of convenience. We had some difficulty getting the address, and trying to reach the customer service line as it was busy on the first few attempts but that was eventually resolved and we were able to get in fine. It was a great location, but there could definitely be some improvements.
