I was very excited to be able to stay at such a famous (to me, having visited family in Morpeth for many years) building. I know Morpeth also has an actual castle, but Morpeth Court looks even more like one! So I loved the big doors and the stone walls on the way to the apartment, and the fact that there are hardly any right angles in the rooms, and the huge window. Everything was clean, comfortable and, while we only used the kitchen for breakfast, it seemed really well provided with all we might need to cater for ourselves properly.
Bigger towels would make such a difference. And, this may sound weird, but none of us liked the texture of the bath mat. These aren't big things, but may be easy to change so we thought we'd feed back. We were there on a very cold weekend and the lack of central heating made it a bit tricky but I suspect that's the result of being in a Grade II listed building! We just had to concentrate a bit and get organised to make the best of the heaters (of which there are plenty, thank you). I imagine that, in the summer, this is the most amazing apartment which would easily rate a 9, but in cold February it sinks to an 8. But, hey, I still stayed in a castle!

A unique property, with great views from the lovely window in the sitting room. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The antique shop downstairs is amazing!
A cafetiere/coffeee maker would have been useful. Kitchen roll and a hand towel (as well as tea towels) in the kitchen. The dishwasher tray kept sticking. But I'm nitpicking!

Location was great! Christmas town lights were on and looked great. Took a drive to the moors to see Winters Gibbet! Well worth a look. Even on a bleak winter’s day. Even got a smile from Barbra! 😂
The stairs crippled us! Get that lift in! Otherwise all was great.

A unique property full of character. It was warm with ample heating , clean and comfortable.
Great for access into Morpeth !
The antique emporium at the front is amazing , such an added bonus to an already fantastic place.
We loved staying here and would definitely return,
I have to say the steps were not as bad as I had envisioned. They are wide and deep, mostly carpeted and the surroundings are great !

The view
Skylight drafty, hair in beds, wobbly bed, microwave rusty and strong smell, cups dirty, heating turns off every 2 hours so cold especially near windows, someone's medication (tablets) left on floor. Only stayed one night and left

A unique place to stay close to the centre of Morpeth. Everything you needed was provided. Great communication from the host.
Noise travels through the property easily, so would recommend just a couple as otherwise you have to be aware of the other people and how much noise you are making if they are asleep.

Excellent location. Beautiful apartment that is so much better than the photos, which are still great.
Comfy and welcoming.
For some the amount of stairs may be an issue, but on the pluss size you get the view of the town.

The accommodation itself has everything you need for home away from home, very clean and well presented. Perfect location to walk into Morpeth.
Would have been nice to have had glass in the bedroom “windows” to provide privacy from lounge.
I should have read the comments more - 64 stairs up was too many for my mum.
No lighting in the car park so a bit unnerving in the dark.

Loved how central it was ,within walking distance and park was a really lovely place, Morpeth is a really lovely clean Town.
64 steps to apartment, I and my Husband were luckily fairly fit and we are 66 years old, up and down a few times a day ,so keep in my mind when booking. Otherwise we loved our time apartment view is stunning. Xx

Unique accommodation! Very funky but also super comfortable. Very interesting building with history. Getting inside was not simple but we were sent very detailed and accurate instructions in advance of arrival so it was easy. Felt very safe. Lovely living area/kitchen with a very large and comfy sofa. The high street is only a few minutes away where we found a choice of appealing places for a good breakfast. Wish we had stayed longer!
Just one thing- taking an eye mask is a good idea- there are sky lights in the bedrooms without blinds.

Unique styling, great layout, be prepared for the stairs it’s a very beautiful ascent but you will want to sit down after.
Would absolutely recommend for a couple or two who want to see the area.
Lack of ventilation, while I understand the building is difficult to update, there was no source (I could find) of fresh air, while there were two fans provided this seemed to just circulate the air already contained in the apartment, so on a warm night while not intolerable it felt rather stuffy. I can imagine in the autumn/winter it being perfect.
It’s a small shame the access is not as grand as the building feels it should be.

The central location to town and all of Northumbria. The building was very striking, and impossible to miss.
A bread knife is needed in an otherwise good kitchen.

A lot of steps to address so travel light. Quite thin walls.

Flat was very new and all facilities were good. Tea/coffee available but not mentioned on web site.
Convenient for getting into Morpeth in the evening.
Parking area not particularly secure. 62 stairs to negotiate with luggage. Lift present but seemed wrecked.

Fantastic location within very easy walking distance to Morpeth Town Centre with shops and restaurants, river walks and a beautiful park opposite. Very well appointed apartment with everything you need for a lovely self catering stay. Comfortable sofa and beds. Loved the big feature windows. Great television. Very quiet on a night. Very clean. Lovely historic building.
I found the key pad entry a little bit fiddly for my fat fingers. Wi-fi code didn't work. Noise travels easily from the living room to the bedrooms as the bedrooms are on a kind of mezzanine floor and the 'windows' don't have glass in them - but this is a minor point. It's a beautiful apartment in a wonderfully historic building.

A very unique and impressive location. Internally, tastefully decorated and comfortable modern facilities. We heartily recommend.
There are a lot of stairs (but not steep). The lift would have helped, but it was out of order during our stay.
The stairs are worth climbing though for the views and the atmosphere.

We had a wonderful mothers day weekend at Morpeth Court. As most people have mentioned, the bed was super comfortable. I usually struggle to sleep well when in new surroundings but had no problem this time. The building is fascinating and in the most perfect location. We ate at Olive & co, had a drink in the Toll House just opposite which was super cute and then enjoyed the apartment watching TV with the lava lamp on. It was gorgeous in the morning with the sun shining in too. Highly recommend. Maria is very responsive and replied immediately when I had a query. Thank you!
That I had to leave :)

Unique and well designed.
Very comfortable.
Well equipped.- some great features .
Good position for the town
Perhaps the “ open windowed” bedrooms may be an issue if someone snores loudly !!
